Error trying install friend pass.

So tried to add the friend pass to the library and install it but all ive got is this error:

I got the same error but when I checked my library it was there ready to install

Yeah, download it in library vs the steam page.

I was able to download the game only from the Library, the game was added there when the error appeared.

That worked for me ONLY ONCE. After my wife let the game timeout i was never able to send another invite, it just wouldn't show a message. Still not able to play :/

We are a steam family of three ppl.
Person A, Person B and Person C.

Only Person A bought and own the game.
Due to family sharing Person B and C can also download and install full game, but can't play together.
Additional it is not possible to download the friends pass, because we all only download the full game.
But again: Person B and C can online just play together the short demo.

Any advice?

This solution worked for us, but our problem was the demo was getting installed, not the full version:

On the account that doesn't own the game, but had the demo installed, you need to go remove it from your account (Help -> Steam Support -> Split Fiction -> Remove from account). Then restart Steam and try installing the Friend's Pass again.

Any real solution on this from EA... or are they just sticking the head in the sand again.?? Done exactly as their website says and STILL get error on downloading the friends pass here on Steam.

What happens if you try downloading Split Fiction Friend's Pass using the EAGames app directly rather than using the Steam app?

Ran into this issue as well. As mentioned a work around is to have your friend who has purchased the full game to send you a game invite.

1. My friend who bought the game launched the game and send me a steam invite to play the game
2. From my steam deck I accepted the invite
3. After accepting the invite I was then allowed to download the friend pass version of the game

Restarting or updating steam didn't do anything for me. I would always get a download error trying to download the friend pass. Could only install after accepting an invite to play the game.
