Why No Friends Pass Pre Download?

I am not here cause I care about preloading, I am just very curious as to why there is no pre download for friends pass users, like is it just not possible?

This is a coop game where a lot of people will use the friends pass...so a person can pre download the game...just for them to then still wait for the other person to download it?...which kinda literally ruins the whole point of a preload?

So the only people profiting from this are people who play normal split screen which i guess is a pretty big minority of people or people who have bad internet but a friend with good internet so they wont have to wait for all too long?

I encountered the same issue as you. I can't find the Friend's Pass download on Steam at all, so I'll still have to wait for my friend to download and install it along with the pass...

Using family share you can also preload Split Fiction (the main game). I have no idea if this can act as a friends pass afterwards, but technically speaking they should be the exact same files.

I understand, but I suggest that next time it could also be set up as a pre-download. Otherwise, after pre-downloading the game, you would have to wait for your friend to download it, which would be quite an itch to scratch, haha.

Thanks for the feedback, I can appreciate it can cause a delay, but hopefully it will be worth the wait when you and your friend get to play
