My game files are all failing all 912 of them

Is there a fix for this? I have it installed on a normal HDD. Does this game require an SSD to run? Any info or suggestions would be welcome.

Steam files verifying is bugged. It always redownloads the files. The best you can do is just do a clean redownload of the game and don’t use verifying the files.

I installed the game yesterday (SSD) and played through until the last mission. I tried to resume my game just now and the game kept crashing. So I reboot my machine I notice that the COD folder is about 100GB smaller than yesterday. Now Steam says I need to download 912 files that failed to verify - yeah cause they've been mysteriously deleted... Completely ridiculous. I've never had an issue like this before.

[Update]: Even after downloading files again couldn't reload latest checkpoint - game would just hang. Had to reply last mission from start.

This is probably the worst experience I've had as a user that just plays for the campaign, from offline being near impossible, to it having this validation issue after two re-installs, when the campaign does load on Ultra settings everything is super low poly/texture streaming breaks, disabling doesn't work, this ♥♥♥♥ should be illegal.
