So no, the old games did NOT show PANTIES. Never in Atelier you could and it's voluntary, once again how is it censorship? ALL of their Ateliers games for 20 years have a camera that locks on one level so you can't see anything under and all of their games with a free camera make girls in skirts have shorts. All their games with a photo mode have a blocked camera so that you can't see anything and make the character disappear if too close. Doesn't it occur to you that maybe it's because the studio doesn't want to show panties in a game for everyone? From the moment it's recurrent since the creation of the license and the appearance of the photo mode, it might be time to understand that it's just WANTED. They may just NOT WANT TO LET US SEE THEIR PANTIES. And it is totally their right since it is THEIR GAME and therefore THEIR VISION. That this is NOT the type of game they want. If there have been games that allow it, it has never been the case here for this series, the fact that they made a fan service game does NOT mean that all of them will and Atelier is not that all. You generally have some subtext, one or two character with big boobs, swimsuit costumes and previous games costumes and not really more than that.

Honestly censorship I hate it and if it was something from the series that had been cut I would have yelled also like for blue protocol (or other I don't remember exactly) or the last fire emblem, but here, it never has been the case, so why since Ryza has been around are people suddenly crying out for censorship when those same things have always been there. To believe that some, because Ryza is sexy they thought that the series became more fan service but in the end no. For me it's pretty clear that the studio never wanted to make the workshop a very fan service game and keep that especially on the goodies and marketing.

Nobody's obligated to do extra messing with the art/animation/QA/etc just so that you can see a fictional character's underwear. It's not like this in the face of some huge public outcry or anything? You're just asking them to do extra work that they've apparently decided doesn't make them enough extra money. Do you not know how to look up fanart like everybody else on the internet?

Been playing since Atelier Iris and Mana Khemia and can say for sure that censorship isn't the main point and well that's just my opinion as a gamer

All three Ryza games are censored.

If you prefer real fanservices, like cute girls bathing in the onsen, you better buy all the other Atelier games instead of the Ryza trilogy. Ryza games shifted the concept of the Atelier games to suit the western gamers' taste. They're the worst trilogy.

i think since Atelier Ryza is more fanservice in the game as before where the graphic was far worst with atelier ryza and now atelier sophie 2 the graphics upgrade are very nice and fine for nowadays. But at the same time, many are modding the PC version of the game and showing what you normally don't see "Panties". But you have that in almost every game, I would say. Steam users don't have to worry about censorship if they can mod anything
