RED GUARDIAN: Another shield wielder, whether the shield means nothing in their ability design. Joining Cap, and US Agent. Red Guardian's ability is specific to key low tech, permanent ability and key power builders and has two issues. One the 3/3 stat-line just doesn't inspire massive usage, where we have seen other 3-cost cards simply have him to make up 3 power or more in a lane at his own cost. Second, issue is this is Elektra in that your targeting a specified card. If I read that ability right, timing is the key, and you maybe playing him into lanes just to play him. Dracula, Morbius, Jeff, Hope, key cards that you simply want to reduce their influence in a match can be deadly if isolated. You play that Cerebro, Patriot, Nebulas alone, he can be an interesting tech counter, but he also crush any range of power in a lane as a single target. Cage once again, unless he is your target simply nullifies his effect in another lane, but the leech aspect of it can allow him to have a wide range specific targets that will make Guardian a nice addition especially on going cards, super skrull, zabu, elsa, angela, with many targets to removing their text. This is a much dangerous card than it appears and though it may not flip a single lane to your outcome in power to power totals in a lane. His disrupt effect could pose a dangerous outcome in matches.

LADY DEATH-STRIKE: Since her buff and altering effect, she has barely moved a notch in usage and is too specific to its targets to truly allow you to take chances with her inclusion in the Meta defining decks. Just too much power being thrown down, where you will most likely hold her in hand. Ranked 253, actual slight drop, and with a 48.7% win rate since her change, simply proves to me that they never got this one right. She actually kills you versus Destroy, but there are deck archetypes you will face that her turn 5 usage can secure a lane against lower deck styles that depend on filing lanes. Kazoo, Ramp, Surfer, Bounce, low Discard cards, Move, but she is too specific, too conditional, and a huge risk, so why do that when their are better choices at her cost to do that. She can hurt the Ironmans, Zabus, and many central cards that are below 3 power or less, but is her 7 power enough to switch lanes and out-power what comes after. The opposing player has too many outs of power that simply she cannot overcome. At 5-cost, she cannot even compete with 4 cost power as they simply out power her use-fullness. Can you win with Lady Death-strike sure, is she someone to build around, no. Too specific too niche, but a nice addition if you do not have the card. She will either make games interesting or have you rage fitting to her niche play. A lovely variant by the Dobsons.

HIGH EVOLUTIONARY: What can I say by the king of the "Mutate" archetype. One of the best cards to get for new and mid game players in the game that will exploit all sub archetypes and permanent card abilities. High Evo not only altered Marvel Snap, but allowed so many possibilities to the Meta, and with each NEW card, he can easily abuse its mechanic. Ranked 38th, win/rate steady at 59.8%, it is a solid cube share of 5-7 that many players take advantage of and still utilized in the high Meta. Though many experienced players can counter his mechanics if they recognize your build. He can be a nightmare in certain match ups. You never know what additions they could make to High Evo and the Mutate sub archetype and whether Control, Poison, Move, Ramp, or whatever sub archetype you choose. HIgh Evo gives you outs. He has recently benefited from the tremendous power influx to the game. If you do not have HIgh Evo, a must get if you are lucky enough to get him in that first key try. Eduardo Mello gives a nice new Zen version of the elder showing how films influence the comics now. If you don't hit Red Guardian, a nice fallback card to enjoy.

I will make one attempt for Red Guardian, who I like more than US Agent (back to the drawing board on that one) and don't mind the other two new variants if I don't hit him. You guys do you, but I did caution on saving your keys.

pretty much try to get him cuz of high evo, his effect is similar to cosmo/rogue, good tech against discard, wong.

I spent 4 keys. 4. Was it worth it? Probably not.
But, this guy is the only card that can hard silence any card and affect board state, and might only be for a long while. He's the only card that can tech against current Hope right now for example, so he might not be anything now, but later down the line he might be an important tech given he's the only one that can do this.

I was lucky, got him with just two keys (now owner of the Lady Deathstrike variant too, yay). I still haven't played that many games, but testing its disruption is becoming problematic.

First attempts were with auto deck that had and odd mix of Doc Doom, Dazzler and Zemo with a few other mill cards seeing use these days. Interesting, but doesn't hold a candle vs established surfer decks, which will either beat you in points, or lower them via toxic variety. Or both sometimes :P

So i then went a similar route including the Red Guardian in toxic surfer deck. Annnnd... wwweeeeelllll.... It kinda works, but it is hard to tell because most games become mirror matches in which you try to get better hand draw/locations, and being three cost you got to think carefully if disrupting Wong is even that useful atm. It might even be pointless, because if you don't have priority and they Mystique the effect, or they can combo hazmat/surfer into absorbing man, points wise you may still have a chance to lose.

It is ironic, because i wanted to test this card in particular vs Iron Man in Tribunal decks, but all i see is The Age of Surfer for the time being. Still, the very few times i did get Tribunal it was a blast seeing their gameplay get undone. In a slightly more flexible way that is, because i was using post nerf Alioth for the same effect anyways, only perk is now i don't need to have priority.

Anyway, that Lady Deathstrike variant is mean, and my second key was Guardian, so fine. I might even test him out on the weekend.

Yes and dont forget about angela, mobius, nebula, quinjet, super skrull and collector. I am pretty sure there are other targets as well.

I just turned off Wolverine as a guard. This will also work with X-23 and (if you can catch) Deadpool.

I came to say that the guard is perfect for Sera control. And in this deck there was just a free space after the nerf of Zabu.

i had to open 4 caches to get him. first one was thanos duplicate... yeah a card i bought for 6k tokens, that was nerfed already two or more times, is like big middle finger in my face, 1k tokens, when i don't own like 80% of pool 4/5 cards. then i got high evo and last was red guardian. i could have stoped at high evo but i wanted red guardian as i think he can be pretty useful in some matchups and is flexible.

Final Assessment: Decided to add my final take as you spend for these cards.

I like this card, wish its effect was broader and he was a 2-cost. He is dangerous. All I will say on him. He can sometimes sit in your hand too often or wasted in lane drops. He too needs to be tweaked.

RANK 70 53.9% when drawn and low cube share.
I have him, but to me he is ok.
Was he worth getting him or not to you?

I used two keys cause I lacked from HE, in the first one I got Lady Deathstrike and with the second, HE, so I just stopped there but I see RG have an impact, a little one, but an impact at the end. Even he's a counter to the HE decks, killing Misty and Sunspot or with destroy decks disabling Deadpool. I have 7 keys remaining but I find it's not neccesary spending one more on him, better use some of them on the week of Valentina.

the way he target cards is very situational, like you need the priority and opponent can't have lower cost card than a card you want to hit. so making him target only a cards that do something while in play would be much better, but idk if it wouldnt be busted.

He's a good value card, but also a very replaceable card. While he's the only card in the game that does what he does. It's situational enough of a tech card that if you got it then great. If you didn't then it won't feel overly bad either. I skipped on him for now, when he comes back around paired with another s5 card then I might pull the trigger.

used 3 keys got him and evo, well evo is great for conquest and his own decks and guardian is overall versatile and useful but sometimes it is better to hold onto him and play him later
