Major Nerfs are here...
Shuri, Leech and Lockjaw just hit by the nerf hammer, while American Chavez and Jubilee had a bit of rework, partly due to upcoming new cards' synergies... And Leader has another effect rework !!! :spacemarineskull:

Chavez might get reworked, because of Iron Lad's effect (copying the text of your decks top card). So you don't copy the Chavezeffect by accident for she is the last card.

We will have to see. Its too early to be making any claims yet. The deck is now no longer able to use cosmo to proactively protect the shuri buffed card. So they have lost 50% of their protection. It also means the lists that run arnem zola are worse now. They get armor to save themselves and thats it. They also then can't protect the taskmaster as easily. Again we will have to play games with and against it to see what the reality is.

Edit not being able to cosmo the lane you play the shuri card also opens the lane up to getting hit by valk.

Reworked leader could also be viable against shuris final turn.

It's time for shadow king to shine.

Yeah could be. I don't have one, but with the energy drop to 3, and this change I could see that.

Edit: The more I think about it the more I like this idea. After all we now always know where the shuri card is getting played. The only mind game they can possibly play is the pass on 5 and play shehulk task master.

They don't want. Well, at least now also have her. 😝

The leech nerf is interesting also. He has to be on the board to trigger so you can't tuck him into lockjaw anymore for value. But his effect will always take place if hes on the board. Cosmo wont' even stop the boy now.

Thanos lockjaw got sent to the "farm"
smetch Apr 18, 2023 @ 11:02am
Rip Thanos Lockjaw
Shuri still works in decks with Taskmaster
Looking forward to trying Leader with Galactus (when I get 300 more tokens)

Thanos lockjaw still feels fine to me. Maybe I played it wrong, but I rarely wanted to drop more then 2 stones in at once and sometimes I wanted to be able to stick something there without it rotating away. I can do that now. The leech in the deck might need replaced though. I prefer the disruption version of thanos personally also, its the one I play the most. The devil dino was a recent addition, it ran spiderwoman in that spot for the longest time. Still debating which is better.

I knew Shuri Deflecting Dev couldn't resist NOT fixing the problem, which was the low effort for massive Power well beyond what 4 Energy should add to the game state.
He think she's "fun", big number double double pogchamp esports #bigplays fun!

"Duh just run multiple tech cards like Shang+Valk every deck even if your deck has no synergy with them and even anti-synergy like unpredictably Jubilee or Lockjaw pulls, or other anti-synergy like you want to run Cerebro 2"
If your card is SO toxic every deck feels obligated to run 2 or even 3 of its 12 cards to stop it, the problem is your card.

Not shure this will happen, the deck was not dominating even before the last Shuri nerf, and this change seems very relevant. There is a deck out there that drops Shuri and the buffed card on the same turn, that one is not affected, but the classic build is now much more vulnerable.

On the other hand, sounds like Galactus/Leader, if it proves to be viable, will be extremely annoying to play against.

Yes , leader in galactus decks is another card that might come on turn 6, which is a bit of a pain, but anyway, if your opponent is able to use the galactus effect, you are most of the time screwed anyway.
Matches against Galactus decks are won in round 4 or 5. I count on debrii here.
