Can someone explain how galactus was nerfed?
If anything he’s been buffed, I thought you had to be winning the lane BEFORE he was played to activate his ability but no, round 6 one lane I was winning 3-0 he played galactus where he obviously has 7 power now so he then did his ability and won the game?

So if anything he’s now even more OP ? I’m very confused

Its a nerf because you can counter play galactus with just power. You don't NEED tech cards. If you see them playing in a lane then you play in the other 2 to win priority. When they attempt to galactus you make sure you have 7 power in each lane and they lose the toss up. This becomes easier with things like turn 3 Storm or Cosmo in one of the empty lanes forcing their hand on where to play but isn't necessary.

Generally what I will do is dump 7 or more power in one lane, and then in the other empty lane just a couple points of power. That will make them try it in the lane I want where I can then play a higher power card with priority (since I should have 2 locations to their 1) and have more power then galactus.

You do this at the first signs of galactus. Yondo, wolverine for their turn 1 or 2 plays are most the time galactus. Not always becuase of the destroy archtype, but most the time still.

So the winning part is not limiting the play of Galactus, but if a player is winning when Galactus is on the board, then it will trigger it's ability?

If galactus is winning the lane when he is revealed it will trigger. If he is not he wont. Lets say opponent plays yondu, wolverine, wave in one lane. If you have priory by having played in other lanes all you need is 7 power in the galactus lane to stop his trigger.

So lets say you played Nebula, Lizard in the right lane turns 1 and 2. Thats 8 power already, they can't galactus there. So you know they have to go mid. So turn 3 you play something mid. Turn 4 after their wave you have priority. Play something to make your power total in the lane 7 or more and when galactus flips his ability will not trigger.

Edit. Oops meant to put a break in that text. Just noticed I forgot to.

I still don’t see how that’s a nerf? Because to have 7 power on turn 4 in each lane is difficult ? Wave can still play galactus on turn 4 !

Before atleast he was only 2 power I’d much rather that than a 7 power who does the same thing ? This is a buff not a nerf, especially when you counter sh*t locations where you can’t even get any power put down ?

He’s now more op than ever unless I use specific cards to build as much power as possible as quickly as I can?

Fine hes op, thats why his win rate is in the toilet. Clearly you know better then everyone else whos stomping the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ deck left and right. Go take a look at this, this tracks how decks are doing by their win rates and how many cubes they are getting. Take a look at where galactus is at. He went from being the top deck in B tier with a play rate of 12% to C tier with a 3% play rate.

https://snap.untapped.gg/meta?collectionLevel=pool3p&minGames=200&missingCards=12&rankRange=10-100&sort=GameCount&timeFrame=CurrentMeta

The problem is clearly you. Why the hell would you try to get 7 power in all 3 lanes? They can't play galactus in the lane they have stuff in. Get out of the bronze leagues for christ's sake.

Hmm. I play a turn six Galactus deck, and I get a lot of wins with him. I looked at the tracker, 67% win rate over 40 games, +72 cubes. Must be down to not playing Yondu, Wave or Electro. And me just reaching rank 70 :)

I've played a lot of Turn 6 Galactus BEFORE the nerf and I had a nice win rate. But after the nerf it looks unplayable to me. At least my old deck. :/

If he waves on 3 you can play a big drop yourself or a counter card like before the update so it is harder to pull the effect. You need priority, but that is a deck composition issue to run good low cards.
webmetalreese Jun 17, 2023 @ 3:28am
I think the terminology is wrong. they gave the card 'nerf' when it should be "counter able' since you can't willy nilly wave turn 4 then galac turn 4 on whatever lane you had open.
Getsomnuts Jun 17, 2023 @ 4:28am
Just played someone who used shrui turn 4 then galactus turn 6 so he had 14 power, so there’s another move that’s hard to counter, yes you can say “well duh he’s going to play galactus there” but unless I use debris or green goblin and try and predict it’s a free win

You can't galactus and blow up the board unless you move the shuri somehow. So unless they played an ironfist with the shuri to move her you are fibbing here. I have seen the turn 5 Ironfist+Shuri to drop the 14 power galactus. That one play line is harder to beat, but its inconsistent as hell.

Crying baby for Galactus while use the most broken deck of Snap with High evo, so much chromosomes in this community.
Nerf High Evo too and we can talk about galactus, ♥♥♥♥♥♥' babies.
Nerf Daredevil + Prof.X
Nerf Spiderman + Wave
Nerf Wave at turn 5 against Sera
When all this stuff are nerfed y'all can talk, before that cry how much you want.

F nerfs, how about they buff snow-guard who I just pulled on ladder who is literally useless? or yet another crazy idea - prevent exploiting cards like Wong, with Odin and Mjorniir?
fabioecco Jun 17, 2023 @ 7:56am
I played against someone running a "move" deck: Iron fist, Vulture, Dagger, Cloak, Ghost Spider...
He played all the cards in mid and right lane, which means they would Heindal and the left lane would be huge.
Nope, they played Galactus and I lost. lmao
