MARVEL SNAP

MARVEL SNAP

BULLSEYE
NOTE: My final tread on the spotlight for sometime as my leave of absence begins on the 21st. So, Let's get to it.
JAN 21st-28th

This is to discuss the cards themselves and I always caution 1-key and to build those keys up to a minimum of 3, 4 or more, and not to go more than 1-key if you can help it. A vital resource to maintain. You decide, no one should be telling you to use this resource. Stick to the discussing the cards and stay on topic.

BULLSEYE (3/3) Activate: Discard all cards that cost 1 or less from your hand. Afflict that many different enemy cards with -2 Power.

https://marvelsnapzone.com/cards/bullseye/

Bullseye was a long time coming in the data mines and enters to highlight the upcoming Born Again series. His ability is not as rigid as it seems with some great potential deadly encounters, to me its a timed Hazmat, that can ruin your day. He makes Cage more prevalent as a choice, not less. This also has a wide range of applications that will help Clog, Poison, Destroy, Ramp and even some obscure sub archetypes like Techno, and Lock down that players will exploit. Bullseye also gives player precise control that what seemed like close locked lanes, can turn on a dime. Discard 1-costs make sense, but he is also helped by bad hand additions. His cost entry is problematic. Keep a keen eye on these next few OTAs for with the massive usage of key tech cards. Bullseye effect can be too situational with potential options of non outcome results and a lone lane placement would not be wise. He also needs those 1-costs in hand for non activity makes his stat-line even worse. You never want to guess when to activate hoping to draw that 1-cost. Compound that with an AOE cancelling affliction card the overall total games may not be meta defining enough to warrant his constant inclusion. I would take a wait and see approach to Bullseye. A nice variant entry by Mello and Ryan.

Subject to change, but if they stay as is.

CAIERA (3/4) Ongoing: Your 1 and 6-Cost cards can’t be destroyed.

https://marvelsnapzone.com/variants/caiera-08/

Ranked 240 and dropping. Caiera is a very good card with a specific niche set. She is not only specific but exposes the predictability of the deck your doing. Despite her wonderful numbers at 58.7% win/rate whether drawn or played, she simply is not vital to your deck constructs. Why, because if you want to protect your 1-costs, Armor is a cheaper option and your not worried about Shang-Chi's reach if you spread power. She is insurance, not meta defining and due to solid tech options can be thwarted to a dangerous cascading effect. She has great range in sub-archetype construct, but I think she herself needs a buff. I don't get why she isn't 3/5-3/6 to give her more impact in the meta. Her analytical numbers contradict this possibility, however, they need to open this game up or she simply will sit in the sidelines to specific constructs only. Not a bad card to get if you hit on Caiera and she will be fun to try out. A new variant entry by Envar Studio if you have her.

MARVEL BOY (3/1) After each turn, give 3 of your 1-Cost cards +1 Power.

https://marvelsnapzone.com/variants/marvel-boy-07/

Always liked Marvel Boy and one of those cards that will just kill you if you ignore what he does. Simply kills you. Ranked 187 with good solid numbers 57.8%. He is truly an on curve when played card, for he jumps to 61.2%, and that is great numbers for his stat-line. To me a flaw in their nerfing him down to a 1 power point made no difference in his usage or win/rate because of his strong effect to his specific purpose. To add power to solid one costs to 1/8 and beyond is insane power to try and stop in a two lane winner take all game. Its the augmentation of everything combined that makes Marvel Boy dangerous in Zoo, Ramp, Bounce. and anything that can will augment that synergism effect and more cards will come to amplify this even worse. He has drawbacks to rng selection and if you do not deck recognize and hope for his effect, you're simply asking for trouble. Marvel Boy is a fine card grab in this spotlight. A new variant by Envar Studios again.

It has been my pleasure for the past three years doing these for you all. A great community of wise players and I am sure as the game continues. Others will continue from what I started. I want to thank everyone for the kind wishes. If all goes well I should be back in 8 weeks. This is a good spotlight with three card choices that players will have fun with if you don't have them.

Be wise with your keys, enjoy the discussion gang and gaming. My best to you all. Cheers :dwarven:

oh man 8 weeks!! none of my business, but what are they treating? are they removing the Snap addiction? (please dont answer this seriously, none of our business) and sorry its obviously no time for jokes. or maybe it is, to lighten the tension.
Either way, bring a tablet if you can so you can still tap and claim some credits or spend some keys.

I really want Bulls-eye.
Ive been saving up for the spotlight of last few weeks and this one.
I wanted Grandmaster, got him and Victoria.
I wanted Nocturne and got her and Moonstone.
I wam running a nice discard deck with Victora, Iron Patriot and Moonstone that will count as 3 wins on the Community bounty.
pretty fun cards!
And i think Bulls-eye might have a good spot in that deck.
Caiera i already have but i think she is great, and really hard to get a variant for her. ive been rocking the base card for way too long so i saved up to get her variant.
But, for the first time, a shop variant for Caiera will appear on the 28th , a week later.
(700 gold)
So if i dont pull her variant, i might be okay. its not that spectaculair one.
Marvelboy i already have, and im also very fond of the card. Already own a cool variant for him thats nicely split, so i dont need him this week.
Fingers crossed for us both

Hope the best for you.
A little scary, he seems really good for discard.

@Yoki-you're fine. Its major surgery, so I will keep that private, but its life. I prepared for the worst, hope for the best. As far as Snap, I admired what they created. I have had a long successful career in gaming and anyone whose kept track of my posting here, knows I don't go after people. I do appreciate the kind words.

@stranger-Many thanks my friend, best to you.

Best of luck on your pulls gang today. I hope they give you a nice compensation.
I wish you ALL the best. :dwarven:
Having fun with him so far. He can go really nuts with just a handful of swarms.

What they expect: Luke Cage and Mobius M. Mobius.

What they don't expect: Wong into Sandman. :cozywolfensteinII:

having fun with this card so far, not super bad, not super great, but fun.

I was hesitant about spending my keys since I already had the other two cards but I went for it and now I'm on an absolute tear with him. Miek and Morbius get crazy stacked almost every game and I finally don't feel like I'm being a stubborn idiot by playing Daken! Went from 98 to 100 and then climbed a couple thousand places in just a couple hours.

I guess I dodge this by not bringing Hand or really caring much about playing the Swarms, they're just there to be ripped in half and used as fuel. The real counters I dread to see are Rogue/Enchantress, Shadow King, and Red Guardian. :summerghost:
Card is surprisingly not bad and it's interesting how the current meta isn't full of Luke Cage
