MARVEL SNAP

MARVEL SNAP

AntiVirus flagging gp.dll - a variant of Win64/Packed.VMProtect.AA suspicious application
My Virus scan picked this up and I can't update or play on PC atm.
~~steamapps\common\MARVEL SNAP\SNAP_Data\Plugins\x86_64\gp.dll - a variant of Win64/Packed.VMProtect.AA suspicious application - cleaned by deleting [1]

Something to worry about? Anybody else seeing this or know about it?
Thanks

Same. I disabled it the first time so that the game would update, but now the game wants me to disable it every time I start Snap or it crashes. Nah. This is trash.
seems like they fixed it
solution: delete antivirus, u nerver ever want an antivirus on a pc u use for gaming.

if u really can't live widhout antivirus u need to stop visiting shady sites and P°rn^^

This is the proof some people need to study computing before saying awful things. Of course you need an antivirus, Windows Defender is dumb and can't stop serious threats like ransomwares, it doesn't even detect spywares...
ESET is currently one of the best, it is used in a lot of companies, is very powerful and will not (usually) annoy you in any way.

there is no good anti virus and u know it.

not a single antivirus stops any kind of virus, all they do is warn u for shady programs wich means nothing on its own cause its will list 99% of all things on the internet as shady.

u just have to learn the hard way what u can trust and what not.

and on top of that antivirus makes your PC so slow as a pentium stoneage PC.

in my 30 years exp with PC's i can 100% say for sure the moment u got a virus that not a single virus protection can get it away anymore to the point its completely gone.

I'm literally teaching computer science at university, you will not fool anyone here. There is still a risk even with an antivirus but it is mandatory to have one if you want to keep most of your data safe on Windows. In most cases it will block the source file and prevent the spreading.
I would say antivirus is useless if you go on very shady places like dark web, else it is fully mandatory.

https://electronicsreference.com/why-is-antivirus-important-anti-virus-software-benefits/
still all depends on what u do with your PC.

using it for work and stuff i can aggree on using an antivirus but if the PC is mainly for gaming only it will do more harm then good.
