MARVEL SNAP

MARVEL SNAP

VICTORIA HAND
As we bid farewell to the RIVALS, in come the Dark Avengers, ooo, sounds evil. Yes, made up of former villains to heroes. They come into SNAP with the first spotlight. Starting on
JAN 7TH-14th

This is to discuss the cards themselves and I always caution 1-key and to build those keys up to a minimum of 3, 4 or more, and not to go more than 1-key if you can help it. A vital resource to maintain. You decide, no one should be telling you to use this resource. Stick to the discussing the cards and stay on topic.

VICTORIA HAND (2/3) Ongoing: Your cards that were created in your hand have +2 Power.

https://marvelsnapzone.com/cards/victoria-hand/

Now you start to see the central theme to what I discussed on the Battle Pass card Iron Patriot. We see some counter balance to cards added to your hand, but this card has much more potential in other deck constructs especially to the ADD sub archetype of Collector, Dino, increased hand themes. Not only an ongoing theme, but vastly improves other ADD cards to your hand no matter what the theme and devised well with GIVE appliers, you could be dropping down some serious power with good counter balance. I will say Victoria has potential and even off curve can cause just enough to help you lock a lane. Once again we see them being restrictive and not opening this game up. It has counters and makes key tech solution more important to have, not less and in time those tech choices will not able to counter enough to stop your opponent. She does have some drawbacks, for one rng may add something you may not want to use and she will struggle against power decks, but not a bad new card to have and try in your deck constructs. Players get creative indeed. A standard variant by Mello and Ryan

Subject to change, but if they stay as is.

GRANDMASTER (2/3) On Reveal: Move one of your other On Reveal cards here to the middle location. Its ability happens again.

https://marvelsnapzone.com/variants/grand-master-04/

First I have mentioned Grand Master before in my previous review. He is a good card, but has over-reached with very specific themes due to the constant ON Reveals entering the game that have given him a broader tapestry to play with. Moving up to rank 61, his numbers are not great overall at 52.7%, but when timed right, he jumps to 54.1% and it amazes me still how many play this wrong or miss. He has a great cube share when played right and on curve very deadly to your deck themes in execution. See a lot of escapes when played right. Grand Master will continue to improve as more and more On Reveals flood the game and his recent buff allows him to contend the lane replacing the power that he is triggering. Grand Master is a good card to add to your collection but I caution to be exact in your builds for you have no time to mess around. A new variant by Alberto Dal Lago.

KATE BISHOP-HAWKEYE (2/3) On Reveal: Add 2 Arrows to your hand.

ACID ARROW (1/-2) One reveal switch sides
GRAPPLE ARROW (1/3) On Reveal: After you play your next card, move it to this location.
BASIC ARROW (1/1) On Reveal: If you play a card at this location next turn, +3 Power.
PYM ARROW (1/1) Ongoing: If your side of this location is full, +3 Power.

What they should be doing is developing fun cards that give players choices and some help. Like Kate a lot, she is fun to play and like Nico, gives you some flexibility without upsetting players. She operates at 54.9% win-rate with more upside than down and has a wide range of sub-archetype applications. When you look at that 2-cost card list, she is one of the few you may not pass up, but it truly depends on what your trying to do with your constructs. She has very few downsides. All the arrows can serve multiple purposes and she has a terrific on curve percentage play. Very few 2-costs outshine her, but as more come in, that may change. Its a smart fun well balanced card and a great grab if you get her. A new variant by salmon4dinner.

I always get the new card, but I am end game. I strongly caution going beyond one key for one good reason. The System is changing and you don't want to give up an extra 1k in tokens or whatever changes to come to the system. The Dark Avengers are here. YOU do YOU.

Be wise with your keys, enjoy the discussion gang and gaming. My best to you all. Cheers :dwarven:

She synergizes with a lot of powerful cards, but not well enough i don't think. Not sure what deck would wanna run her just to have +2 power on a couple of cards.

Kate bishop is very good though. Anyone missing her should probably open caches this week (not legal advice)

My head goes to a pretty good card in Apoc discard for Swarms and if she also effects recurring cards Like Scorn and Apoc. List is pretty tight as is though so I'm not sure what you would cut for it.

May open because I dig the Grand Master Variant but might pass since the week only has 1 new card for me.

I'm missing both Grandmaster and Kate so I've been hoarding keys just for this week, but Hand herself is the least interesting of them all. Obvious synergy with Collector decks but 2 power on the randomly generated cards is gonna be pretty inconsistent and the Ongoing tag is a double edged sword. You could hold off and play her on 6 to gain her effect on an as-needed basis but it also makes her more vulnerable to Ongoing counters.

She won't work with Ongoing decks, but I always liked Collector decks (pre/without Loki) so hopefully this will give it some new life.

Good luck gang in your pulls tomorrow. :dwarven:

She goes in well in a non-Arishem Arishem deck. Agent 13, QuinJet, Cable, Coulson, Mockingbird.

She also synergizes well with Kate Bishop, who's also in the spotlight and battlepass featured card, Iron Partriot. pretty solid card overall

Been having a great time with Hand and Collector along with cheap card creators like Maria, Sentinel, Kate, etc. and Grandmaster. I threw Frigga into the mix and getting double Hand or Collector can be really strong!
