MARVEL SNAP (マーベル・スナップ)

MARVEL SNAP (マーベル・スナップ)

DOCTOR DOOM 2099
Rival month continues with the Doctor himself. Doctor of what, maiming...eesh!. Coming in
Dec 17th-Dec. 24th is the evil Doom himself.

This is to discuss the cards themselves and I always caution 1-key and to build those keys up to a minimum of 3, 4 or more, and not to go more than 1-key if you can help it. A vital resource to maintain. You decide, no one should be telling you to use this resource. Stick to the discussing the cards and stay on topic.

DOCTOR DOOM 2099 (4/2) After each turn, add a DoomBot 2099 to a random location if you played (exactly) 1 card.

DOOMBOT (4/2) Ongoing: Your other DoomBots and Doom have +1 Power.

https://marvelsnapzone.com/cards/doombot-2099/

First off, love the idea of this card. It will revitalize Doctor Doom's original card, but has some wonderful potential executions. This is what they should be doing in development. Given players some choice and have combinations with cards that are established in the game. You want to have that Nico-Kate Bishop feel to card creating, but let's get to Doom here. He will be all about sequencing. Clearly augmenting deck constructs will execute this to perfection with as little cards as possible and getting him down properly with those augmenters is the key to making the cards mechanic work to lock down two lanes. However, he has one big issue, again board space as with some work is needed that if you don't construct this right, you will have a nightmare time with out of sequence play. Experts players will make you pay if you mess this up and because of that reason. I felt they are at the wrong cost intro for this card. I do think for the Meta, Doom 2099 with what they have added will create some interesting power themed decks.
A solid entry variant by Mello and Ryan.

Subject to change, but if they stay as is.

DAKEN (3/4) On Reveal: Add the Muramasa Shard to your hand.

https://marvelsnapzone.com/variants/daken-09/

MURASAMA (1/1) When this is discarded or destroyed, double Daken’s Power.

https://marvelsnapzone.com/cards/muramasa-shard/

DAKEN has always suffered from simply too much work. There is a solid reason he is not utilized or meta prevalent. Is you simply don't have the time to get his power up in a six turn game. You are getting more help to execute that with Scorn and other discard mechanics. Ranked 262, he is all about getting him out early and on curve or he is useless and that is the problem He operates at a 48.5% win/rate when simply drawn, but when out there he will have favorable results at around 55.9% and an okay cube share. Your deck builds must be precise and consistent to on curve play and that is the issue. He simply does not have consistent meta deck prevalent execution. I would even argue, he could be a 2-cost and a series 3 card. As a two cost, he definitely would see more usage and help the Destroy archetype have more variety. If you get him, not a bad card to try. A new strike the pose variant by Cameron Stewart.

MIEK (1/1) When you discard a card, this gains +1 Power and can move next turn.

https://marvelsnapzone.com/variants/miek-03/

MIEK is a series 4, that should be a series 3 and an awful starting stat-line, with a lot of work, but solid stats and is simply not being utilized. Continuing to drop to 270 rank, he has a wonderful win/rate of 56.9% and good cube share, and has gotten more help with Scorn and Merge to make him an interesting deck construct idea. He has suffered by deck cloggers, but still gives you some flexibility. You must have your triggers in line. The issue is he is also being outclassed by other early card entries, but planned right Miek is dangerous. I would like to see him go to a 1/2-1/3. Open him up, you can always go back. He is not Meta defining, but don't sleep on him or it will cost you. He can energize outside the discard theme like Collector, Arishem and Wiccan ideas, but without those triggers will sit, wasted. A nice new card to try if you are missing him in your collection. Though most of the Variants give you a very dull Miek stance. Inkpulp at least leaps him into action with his new Variant entry.

I will be getting Doom man, but I am end game with plenty of resources to do it. However, not a spotlight to shoot for. You should take a wait and see approach this week. YOU do YOU.

Be wise with your keys, enjoy the discussion gang and gaming. My best to you all. Cheers :dwarven:

does the ongoing skill of the Doombot 2099 also count OG Doom and Doombots?

if so, we can do an ongoing build with on Onslaught.

t3 - Magick
t4- Doom 2099
t5 - Blue Marvel
t6/7 - OG Doom/Onslaught

It will work with both versions :dwarven:

Looks pretty fun, I'll actually really be interested in picking it up. Rogue/Skrull won't do much for enemy players unless they're also running Doom 2099, but now I expect to see a lot of Enchantress going forward.
Looks like a fun new thing to try. Except that I don't like decks that only play a few cards in a game. I want to be doing things, not just passing turns. I'd love it more if they omitted the word your from Doombots, that could get crazy.

If you want the card, and have the tokens, I suggest you use tokens instead of keys this time, kingts gave a good explanation for it.

I use Daken in my Discard deck because I don't find Gambit to be reliable enough and I'd rather have the extra discardable and 5 more power. Plus he utilizes empowering locations better than most other cards in the archetype since his effect is a multiplication. Miek sucks though, he's like Morbius but with less power and just as many counters (if not more).

Good luck in your pulls :dwarven:
seems like a fun card, the rest of the spotlight sucks tho
every deck will run red guard and target doom 99 on turn 5 lol.

Play him in an Ongoing deck and put him in the same space as Ant-Man or Cosmo, tbh.

Enjoying the card, but problematic and inconsistent at times. I was pretty accurate in my assessment and I do think this card will get more options with the new influx of cards inbound.
Careful with your keys gang. :dwarven:
I got Miek and actually am liking him. I don't get the hate. Sure he could use another point of power, but most of the time he's reaching 8 to 10+ power. A 1/8+ is not bad at all, plus he can move potentially every turn as long as you discard something. If he was series 5 I'd see the criticism, but as a series 4 he seems fine.
if anything he needs nerf, not buffs.

He's not terrible, there are just better options for discard and with only 12 card decks a card like Miek wont make the cut in an optimised deck.
