I've done infinite a lot of times but seeing this stupid pattern couple of times made me just stop playing for it. Basically since a while just doing dailies and some conquest if i like the variant they put.
Solution: learn to retreat instead of losing a lot of cubes.
For me it boiled down to opponents just having perfect curve after perfect curve, no problems with any deck. whereas for me even with decks I had previously done good with, it was he worst draws possible every time. Also the locations just align with their decks or screw mine.
I get bad streaks can happen but sometimes the consistency is really fishy. You would think the games in these streaks wouldn't be so consistent, but its perfect draws and locations for opponent after opponent after opponent 20-30 games in a row and absolute diabolical draws for myself.
Really makes you think.
What it should make you think (and look up) is the mechanics of probability. Loss streaks like you describe are an inevitability given the number of games being played.
The probabiliities of the perfect draws by the opponents I face defy any realistic probability, yet it happens.
Say every Tribunal deck I playa against in a month, every single one drawing their combo. The odds are so small yet it happens.
Secondly, I didn't argue against loss streaks. I argued against loss streaks under those circumstances. Perfect draws and locations by every opponent game after game? Oh look the Wong deck just happened to get Kamar-Taj, the junk deck just happens to get locations which limit space, the destroy deck just happened to get locations which benefit that, the Brood deck just happened to get raft etc etc you wouldn't expect to see this 20-30 games in a row, yet it happens. All perfect curves too.
got an unfavorable? retreat.
never snap unless you know you are going to win.
when your opponent snaps on turn 6, never snap back and go for that 50/50, cheeky play.
climbing in rank involves more retreating that winning.
Absolutely this. If your goal is to climb to infinite you have to play this way.
It's much more fun not playing like this though. Taking risks and sometimes just letting hands you know you will lose play out just to see what happens.
I buy battle passes, and I get these losing streaks. Usually after winning streaks, so statistics says it's normal.
I wouldn't be surprised if PSN has to drop below 90 before he is allowed to climb back up again.
