Curious to know if how I would go about getting all the x-men characters? is it possible or have I missed the season with x-men within them?

You'll unlock the cards not given to you gradually as you play. The cards that cost tokens you can get majority if not all from the free series 3 pick each month. I think there's only a couple in series 4 which you would have to either save tokens for them or get them from a random spotlight cache drop.

To answer the question, it is random. You are more likely to get non X-men just by probability.

Since you are new, follow these x10 tips

1. Play Free
2. Save your gold and tokens. You must understand resources, what lots have value as you save your gold, what ones do not. Its gacha, so they will entice you.
3. Save you caches and especially Keys, to 3-5 ahead. Do not rush up your collection tree. Match ups are based on three factors, rush up that line, you will pay. Bots easy low, harder high. Don't spam emotes, or be shot, he he.
4. Learn each card and what they can do
5. Know the difference between archetypes and that they are not equal. (6 main-16 sub archetypes)
6. Deck recognition, as you learn the cards, recognize the deck your up against
7. 2 lane game, not three
8. Know how to snap, when to snap, when to retreat, never force a game or play an archetype you sux at
9. Conquest, you snap right away, winner take all, prolonged matches work against you.
10. Remember its all illusion, cosmetics, not real. Variants rock, but you will draw them as well, so don't use your gold, when you can get it anyway in time.

Understand that each pool will allow you some from a starter set.
As you move up in your collection tree, more will becoming available.
There are 5 POOLs of cards and some have rarity markings.
POOL 1 thru 3, you should get most.
POOL 4 further you progress in the Collection Level, the higher chance you have to unlock cards from Pool 4 through Collector's Reserves
POOL 5 rarest can be attained by tokens, keys during spotlight caches, offers (I would not do that),
In your collection section of the game. You will see a small (?) on the selection bar that will show you all the cards missing in your collection.
Double click the card you wish to see, and on the upper left it will indicate what SERIES it is, some Rares are offered through promotions, but do appear in spotlights.

There is no DUST system yet included to allow to craft the cards. This is BRODY, who did Hearthstone, so you never know, but for now.
Learn the game and grind. In time you will unlock most of the cards.
Its a long venture, but it can be done.
