GORR
As the Asgardian Legends start to wind down, comes one of the best villains in comics, but man did they butcher him in the film. Just in time for Thanksgiving. Will Gorr have a better result in game?
NOV 26th-Dec 3

This is to discuss the cards themselves and I always caution 1-key and to build those keys up to a minimum of 3, 4 or more, and not to go more than 1-key if you can help it. A vital resource to maintain. You decide, no one should be telling you to use this resource. Stick to the discussing the cards and stay on topic.

GORR (6/-1) Ongoing: +2 Power for EACH On Reveal card in play.

Though I am no fan of this stat-line. Gorr's design is really more in line with Gilgamesh, and others that count on On Reveal. The difference is 'in play' and its both sides. To me, Gorr is far more dangerous than you think in that one archetype mechanic, but anything else, he will be either in hand or non-existent. Run into Activate, On-Going, Permanent Ability, or anything else that does not utilize On Reveal and you could be dead on arrival with your side only being a factor. He is not situational, but one-dimensional and that maybe too much to risk in your deck constructs to get consistent wins. However, keep in mind the flood of powerful cards coming down the line that do play into the On Reveal mechanic that are new and this will entice players to play On Reveal more, not less, so to me this will have a short immediate impact the next coming months. This also capitalizes on, On Reveal tech cards, you may not have considered, like Cosmo, and in extended games. Gorr will take full advantage of Arishem, Hela, Zola, Wong, and other big power On Reveals that count on their execution to huge Gorr results. This game is about deck recognition and if you do not recognize wisely the deck archetype you face. Gorr will make you pay the price for your short shortsightedness. A standard starter variant by Mello and Ryan.

Subject to change, but if they stay as is.

HAVOK (2/0) After each turn, you lose 1 Max Energy and this gains +4 Power.

Havok has some of the worst stats in the game and is simply not meta prevalent or utilized. He has benefited from a ton of energy enablers in the game and 1-3 cost inclusions that if you ignore him. He will lock down his lane very easily. He needs a buff and the deck constructs simply do not compete in the Meta. Though Havok Clog is dangerous with board space a major issue in the game. There will simply be too many powerful cards coming that will make his mechanic even more problematic to utilize. What people do not get, in a two lane, six turn game. Giving up too much power in a lane kills you, especially not in sequence. Some great theme ideas you can try with Havok, but when off curve a disaster. He can kill you both early and late in games. Why risk a rank 270 card with a 46.9% win/rate in play and even worse when not. Just bad. Makes no sense. He should be a +6 in power. Make him have impact for a great classic X-men character brand. Stop babying the Meta. If you hit on Havok, some fun Bounce and Wiccan decks that you can experiment with, but expect hair pulling. A nice designed new Variant by Nicoletta Baldari.

LEGION (5/7) On Reveal: Replace each other location with this one.

First, love the idea of Legion, and he is not just about Storm or War-Machine, but clearly again, SD has hurt that sequence and his overall stat-line and usage have been dropping. Now down to 94 rank, with a 55.7% win/rate, he has a clear obvious intent and usage. You see him now a mile away and once again don't like his stat-line. Should be a 5/8-5/9. Legion is dangerous, but most play him badly. You must know ALL the locations, or don't bother. Also many are sleeping on Location deck constructs and not maximizing his ultility. He is about location control, not location disruption. He can alter the match, but I feel needs more help to assist his dangerous mechanic. If you hit on him, some might find his game mechanic more fun than any of the other cards in the spotlight because he can simply shut you down. Expert players know exactly how to use Legion, and they can set you up to terrible losses. Also keep in mind the cards coming, and I do think a few more location changers will make his mechanic more dangerous. Tradd Moore gets his mental insanity right with a new Variant.

I will be trying for Gorr, simply because I like the character and I am end game, but this is not a must spotlight. You can take a wait and see approuch. Gorr and Legion are two solid grabs, but Havok needs help and he may just get that help in their last OTA and with what is coming. However, as I always say, YOU do YOU.

Be wise with your keys, enjoy the discussion gang and gaming. My best to you all. Cheers :dwarven:

i just one tapped Werewolf and i feel like there is nice combo's to make with him and Gorr in a deck. But im trying to save keys as much as i can for January.
Already have Havok, loved him in High Voltage, where you end up many turns with unspent energy.
Legion ive watched him backfire too many times for me to desire him.

Now that Thanos has been resurrected from the dead, Gorr should find a home in it because of the stones, pretty much Blob 2.0.

Maybe he's a good card for the Hammer Bros deck? Thor + Beta + Jane + 2 hammers = 9 power plus whatever you played turn 1 and 2 plus any on reveal on your opponents side. Odin has been the main finisher for the deck, so another thing your opponent has to play around may help.

Can't see any other good deck that would want to run him, yes I know he fits the Mr. Negative archetype well, but he does nothing to make that meme deck any better then it currently is.

I also think he is a fine card to have on hand to what is coming in Dec, Jan, Feb of these huge On Reveal mechanics coming. I don't think he is Meta defining yet, but thinking ahead as they add 20 (On Reveals) in a year, you may find him getting stronger to that arch-line. Plus you know these OTAs can change things on a dime. Peace. :dwarven:

hm. Idk you'd need like 7 reveals for this to be on par with other 6-cost cards. I like the character though

very weak spotlights. both the returning cards are just series 4 and not even that good. legion is pretty playable but not required for anything, and havok is just bad. would recommend most players to save their keys.

gorr seems pretty fun, hopefully he sees more play than just the all-in mr. negative decks.

with Gorr counting all on reveals on BOTH sides of the field he will be even bigger then blob.

strait up OP and needs a nerf before launch.

i one tapped the card i wanted , Gorr, again this week. first impressions are that its really really strong! makes Surtur look like the padawan to this card when it comes to power increase.
He easily reaches 17 power, and thats with half my deck not on reveal.
has a cool animation and sound effect, i enjoy the card.
Ongoing, so easily countered. just a good 6 cost card imo!
(i did notice that as soon as i went to test the card, all my opponents also played Gorr on turn 6. This matchmaking ......)

Feels at home in Negative and makes the deck actually compete overall a fun card.

Gorr seems too OP, he's often close to 20 power or over that.
