" I liked Hope, Blink, Gwen, and Kate. I did not like Black Swan or Symbiote Spiderman, just did not work with me. I don't like them. I don't have most of the others."
That is her take on it.
Black swan wasn't as good as an on reveal but the activate change just makes her more potent in bounce since you can just dump your entire hand of 1 costs without worrying about when to play her.
Hope summers is pretty good ramp with kitty and made even more crazy with thena.
Zemo, mills gotten better but still kind of whatever. Drawing the lowest costing card from your opponent is bad in itself
Blink is just good. You pretty much cheat out a 6 cost if you build your deck right.
Gilgamid at release but pretty much is a must have for zoo decks. T5 blue marvel and t6 squirrel girl gilgamesh is so much points to go go against.
Gwenpool is okay. It's kind of just a good 4 cost splash card. Nice in surfer decks or decks that run mysterious.
Kate bishop is good. Clog started picking back up again during that month and getting the acid arrow pretty much made sure you win. Crazy good with mocking bird as well.
Symbiote spiderman was whatever. It did introduce activate and pretty much made that month not fun at all because of hell cow.
AV pretty much made bounce more of a threat. Everybody playing AV nowadays either with bounce or Ironman shenanigans.
Surtur is just gonna support skaar and big boys don't see him getting played in any other decks. Which I'm not complaining since I do like seeing a 0 cost skaar. That season too seems good. Gorr could be decent.
I think for november fenris has the most use because he's a 2/3. You can straight up steal locations with Shang chi + fenris on turn 6.
MAR-HOPE SUMMERS
AUG-KATE BISHOP
OCT-AGENT VENOM
MAY-BLINK my personal favorite for looks, use, and fun.
JULY-GWEN POOL
JAN-SKAAR
JUNE-GILGAMESH
FEB-BLACK SWAN big improvement since becoming Activate. This would have been bottom card without that change.
SEPT-SYMBIOTE SPIDER MAN
APRIL-BARON ZEMO
NOV-SURTUR
I won't rank Surtur baseed on looking at the card. I have to play with something before I come to a conclusion.
2. Agent Venom
3. Gwen Pool
4. Kate Bishop
5. Blink
6. Surtur
7. Skarr
8. Symbiote Spider-Man
9. Black Swan
10. Gilgamesh
11. Baron Zemo
My personal rankings are decided by the type of play patters I like. Cheating energy and buffing cards is always a dopamine hit in Snap.
Kate was fun for utility. Blink, Surtur and Skarr can cheat out big numbers which is cool but might be a little inconsistent.
Overall, not a bad year. Thanks for making this retrospective post!
JAN-SKAAR 10/10 Love this card one of my mains have made many decks based just on him
FEB-BLACK SWAN 3/10 She started off horrible has had her moments shes meta right now but I hate bounce soooo
MAR-HOPE SUMMERS 8/10 Loved her the first month she was out, shes great in mid range decks still probably the best energy cheat in the game.
APRIL-BARON ZEMO 8/10 Hes really not a great card but I just persoanlly love him I really enjoy mill decks and hes a must.
MAY-BLINK 8/10 Shes a slept on card shes a fun card to play and also fun to build decks around opens up several play lines.
JUNE-GILGAMESH 7/10 Im not a huge zoo fan but I do play it on occasion and Gilga is mandatory if not a bit boring to be honest hes just a big body thats really easy to get big.
JULY-GWEN POOL 8/10 Underrated feels like you could put her in just about any deck whether if shes an upgrade in that deck is iffy but her versatility cannot be understated.
AUG-KATE BISHOP 9/10 Talk about versatility shes the ultimate plug and play 2 cost love her.
SEPT-SYMBIOTE SPIDER MAN 5/10 Man oh man talk about disappointment and after all the banger's second dinner had released he just fell flat. And I really really tried to like him, he came out during the wrong meta (junk) and still just fells clunky.
OCT-AGENT VENOM 10/10 Meta defining easily the best season pass card they have released all year.
NOV-SURTUR TBA Super hyped for this card as I said I love Skaar and I see him fitting in perfectly.
God Bless :)
BLACK SWAN
HOPE SUMMERS
BARON ZEMO
BLINK
GILGAMESH
GWEN POOL
KATE BISHOP
SYMBIOTE SPIDER MAN
AGENT VENOM
1. Hope
2. Gilgamesh
3. Agent
4. Gwen
5. Skaar
6. Kate
7. SSM
8. Kate
9. Swan
10. Zemo
2. Blink - Insane value with a good ramp deck. I feel like the meta has moved on but I was dominating Conquest for quite a while with it.
3. SSM - Good value with the right combo cards, as long as nobody blocks it. Can pull off some tricky moves against the unsuspecting.
4. Skaar - Was briefly great until Mockingbird was dropped to 9 power and probably will be again with Surtur's release.
5. Gilgamesh - The big boy of Zoo, especially after Marvel Boy's release.
6. Black Swan - Started off pretty meh but is much better with the Activate ability.
7. Zemo - Practically defines the mill deck, but that deck is pretty meh.
8. Hope - Was okay at first but dropped off pretty quick. I can't remember the last time I used her and I hardly ever see her played.
9. Gwenpool - Meh. I keep trying to find a good place for her but other than being sorta okay with Shaw there is just always something better to use instead.
10. Kate Bishop - Terrible in everything but zoo, and even then she's pretty optional.
Rank them however you see fit brother. I said clearly
"Grade them anyway you wish. Did you like what they developed, or did it make you pull your hair out. Points, Grades, or just whatever."
You do you.
Black Swan was lack luster back then, still is sort of
Hope summers went from busted to good
Zemo is a fine card, opened a new archetype
Blink is a good card
Gilga was mediocre, buff made him good
Gwenpool is good but she shouldn't hit the same card again and again, it makes it painful to deal with
Kate is a great card, the best season pass card I have ever seen, acid arrow is a bit annoying though
SSM opened a new mechanic, but the card is alright
AV was good, but now he's slightly broken
Busted, right from the start, but gave an existing archetype the boost
All is fine. Its an opinionated tread of the year of BP cards. I am not going to force a criteria on people.
Peace
