Playing big power cards isn't the same as playing well.
If you honestly think that shang chi doesn't require you to think about the game, you are not playing the game enough, you don't meet 50 50 situations and you have no deck knowledge. Instead of venting your frustration on a random steam forum that barely anyone except us 10 regulars read, try working on your game, play more, look at decks online, watch a higher rank pilot his deck like.
We are listing all the play around to show you how much variety the game provides that plays around shang chi, if you don't want to listen, again that is your problem, get over your ego, get over the "world isn't fair" viewpoint and just move on with the game and your invested time. Nobody is forcing you to play the game with a rope around your hands.
Tech cards exist to keep the balance, saying shang chi is lazy is saying that rogue, shadow king and enchantress and red guard are lazy. They are tech cards. They are useless outside of the cards they affect, you adjust to the pool of players you face or you play around. Its called adapting. Humanity has been adapting to the challenges presented to them for 40 000 years.
If you are just venting say so, so ppl like me and others can stop wasting time trying to help.
A) Play wide with multiple big threats via ramp or discount effects. Zoo right now is very powerful at doing this as they can attack two lanes at the same time with +10 power via Dazzler and Antman, Gilgamesh, Mockingbird and Ultron.
B) Play combo decks like Surfer or Mr. Negative or Tribunal. These decks typically always flip second due to their set up having low power, but they have explosive turn 6s that usually win the game by itself.
C) Play protection cards like Armor, Cosmo and Caiera. These protect your big boys and also syngerize with Ongoing buffs.
