MARVEL SNAP

Shang-Chi Counter?!
How do I stop him? Never have a card with 10+ power on the board? At any time?!

That's impossible. There's always going to be something random. Ironheart might bump an 8 to a 9. Then some location bumps it to 10.

So, no power-boosting characters. Can't do that.

I suppose I could use Armor or Cosmo. But then I'd have to predict, 3 turns in advance, exactly where I will place my 10+ power card. And I can only have one. And I can't use Carnage or Deathlok. And the 10+ can't use their on-reveal with Cosmo. And my opponent will instantly know what I'm doing the moment Cosmo or Armor drops. No win situation.

Why does the Shang-Chi card exist? To punish me for making a deck with high power?

And what of lore? Hulk is the strongest one there is. And Shang-Chi can defeat him 1v1?! Get outta here.

Are you the same person that whines that in any DBZ game Goku should instantly win or SNAP should just do away with the early rounds and it should only be the last 2 rounds so the bigs can duke it out without a counter except someone bigger more powerful?

My friend's son said when Reinhardt from Overwatch hammers down that the game should end with his win. I'm sure you are also upset that doesn't happen.

Am I supposed to know what any of that means?

So you don't know how to infer from your original, "You shouldn't be punished for doing better than your opponent."? Clearly you do since you purposely cut out my first paragraph to try and make it look like my paragraph 2 & 3 are irrelevant and non sequitur to the entire conversation of this thread while mocking you.

This game isn't just about who can get bigger numbers faster, its also who can slow down the other person from doing so.

It's one thing to be ignorant or lazy to properly defend or do a last round sneak attack. It's another, you, to be upset that the game should only be, "nUmBeR. gO. Up. i hAvE. BiGgeR. nUmBeR. tHaN. YoU, sO. i wIN.'' And it's not.

Well, the game literally is about who has the bigger numbers, that's the one and only win condition. How you get them is another matter. Just playing big dumb things should be a way, but not a very good one.

At higher levels it's actually quite rare to see Shang-Chi. He is still useful, but has little synergy with anything except destroy decks and normally he is left out for cards that fit in better.

Ya you are right, it should be a way and it is when techs aren't played. I don't have Shang Chi in my combo decks and I think it's fun sometimes when they don't either and we just both play and see who can combo best (of course with some prayers to RNGesus).

The game is about bigger numbers than the other person but it isn't only about 1 bigger card in 2 lanes to win.

Shang is one of the most perfect balanced cards in the game. Low rank/playtime players are always whining about it lol

Armor, Cosmo. Caiera.... playing with no priority with Ghost. Shang chi has counters

its more difficult to counter tribunal. its not on reveal but ongoing, though you had to play enchantress after him on the right place.

tribunal is one of the most telegraphed decks in the game. Just like invisible woman+modok+hela

Cards like Shang-Chi should not be allowed to have their effect post turn 5, same as Magik. The amount of b@llsh!t this card carries after spending 5-6 turns building a strategy is insulting, especially when a lot of high stakes cards that aren't level 1 or 6 can have over 9 points of power at turn 5. F that card.

you cry about shang chi but then say you dont want to limit deck design? Are you serious?
Youre offered various obvious solution to your issue and then say you dont want to take those options.

Priority is not random nor is leech. When you play at high levels you need to realize. what your deck is good at. Is it good at getting and maintaining priority? then you need armor. if its really good at revealing last then maybe you can eschew options like that. running something as simple as a cosmo can save your guy and then armor in another lane to save another. If youre not going to take advice why ask for it?

As for leech he is guaranteed to hit all on reveal cards in your opponents hand. a lot of people tend to hold shang until last turn so you have a great chance to hit.
Lemme try this again. Because you're making all kinds of assumptions about my personal character.

If I play Armor to one lane, and Cosmo to another? My opponent knows I'll be stacking on those lanes. They will know that my deck won't have a lot (if any) On-Reveal cards. They will know I will probably play something big in the Armor lane. They also know I'm unlikely to play to the lane without either Cosmo or Armor. Which they can assume they'll get for free.

So, they know all kinds of information about my deck. It's all been projected. Especially so since I have a low collection level. (Currently 724.)

I took your advice. I built a deck with Cosmo/Armor. It's easily one of the worst I've ever made. No wins. Not one.

As far as priority? I already explained myself. But I'll provide a different take.

I consider priority. However, my opponent is also considering priority. Which means I can't always control what they'll do. They might play something to take control. Or they might not. I don't know.

All I can do is look at the current round's priority, and then make a decision based on that. I cannot predict what it will be next round. Also, I'm pretty sure the starting priority is random.

I hope this shows I do have a grasp on the basics, an understanding of card games, and I'm not "crying". I'm merely explaining how I can't make what you said work. If that makes you rage? I don't know what else to say.

If your strategy dies to Shang on six, then it's trash. Simple. Unless, of course, you are at a low collection level and can't build what you want. Then, all you can do is collect more cards.

If you don't win any games, it means your deck is simply not good; maybe you don't have good synergies between your cards or your strategy doesn't provide enough power. Armor and Cosmo will also help your opponent, not only you, so they also can play their big cards there.

There are good decks out there which are built using low pool cards. Right now the best thing you can do is gathering credits, upgrading cards, and opening caches. Spend you keys wisely; this week you can grab Hope Summers and Nico Minoru, both are very good cards to have.
