Can't spend gold in store

Tried to buy my first purchase with the 1600 gold I have, but despite the avatar I tried to buy being only 250 gold I can't complete the purchase. It just makes that sparkly sound and won't do anything beyond that.

Is this a known issue or something? Seems stupid to have an in-game currency that you can't even use.

You have to keep the button pressed until the animation finishes. Clicking it is not enough.

There is, a little effect plays around the button the longer you hold it. It's to prevent people from accidentally clicking and buying stuff. Happens more often than people think. People complain about accidental buys, especially in mobile games.

If you click on the button, it will say "Hold". It's from the mobile version of the game.

If you click fast the "hold" never shows up, you have to START holding it for it to appear. Thanks for the info though, now the stuff I wanted to buy is out of the store so I guess I'll be saving a while longer.
