Actually, I already had seen these somewhere on a website - Here's the thing LM that I have and why I am kind of raging out a bit.
The collection track/ladder has yet to be adjusted. I ran up 200 ticks last night payign into the step up bundles on the Nurverse site and all you get for your time and money is not a hit to that gacha nerve, rather 100 tokens, a gold ticket, some useless avatars and ONE variant.
They coudl have easily done at least ONE of the new borders as a WOW lookit that! either in the pass, or conquest, or in ladder. Instead, they decide to instead add some 'buring your eyes neon and dull lackluster metals that at the cheapest at 500 gold = will cost a player 6000 gold to have the same border in ONE deck.
I don't care so much about charing for some shinies, but now all the new borders are paywalled for F2P who instead save gold for variants to complete albums in order to gain spotlight keys for example.
"* Collectible Borders: Always wanted a gold border to match your gold finish? Good news! We’ve added Collectible Borders that can be applied on a character-level basis. We’ll be adding more borders and more ways to earn them in the future!"

I wonder if they will adjust it due to the overwhelming backlash. This isnt like a whale bundle which comes and goes, this is a whole feature many will sit out on.
The most annoying thing about them is that they are now first shown every time you head into customization, rather than in the shop or somewhere else. Just shove it right in our faces all the time, every time.
I do have to give a nod of respect for allowing variants now to share the effects, but I still dont understand why I can have say a blue stardust WITHOUT the foil or prism background.
could just make much more sales if those were cheaper...
do u want 10000 ppl spend 100$ and make a million
or have like 100000 ppl spend 30-50$ and make 3-5million
never understood the absurd pricing
good pricing always result in more sales for sure
recent greediness is insane like avatars for 2.2k or now boarders per card for 900gold
maybe one day they will realize that aiming for the broad mass is always more lucrative
6k per 12 cards on the cheap end of 500 immediately made me cringe. Now since they are the first window in all custom windows the UI for me just got worse as well. Thanks SD! Hope your graph on SteamDb doesn't take a fall next season!
If they really wanted to bank on it, I would've guessed they'd have these really basic borders account-wide for roughly these costs, and then have "premium" borders (like your card has little, wispy green flames on the top) for way more gold.
But I don't have the metrics and I'm just an Average Joe, so maybe that's too sensible of me.
Even if it was like 2200g for a border across all cards, that would be better. Hell even something crazy like 5k gold would be better.
Nobody wants to buy a border per card.
Super non-issue. They are allowed to monetize their game, and it's not sitting behind a pure paywall, you get gold for free. 500 gold is an okay price to pay per card. (The 900 ones are a little whack though) I guess arguably it could and should be a tad cheaper, but it's f2p affordable for a deck.
The real issue is the metallic borders are the only worthwhile interesting ones (and really just metallic silver and metallic copper- silver looks like a good border for neat Inked variants, and copper is a new color.) The Neon Borders are really lazy and not worth getting at all (the standard banners all look better), and I think it's embarrassing- especially with the white and yellow borders randomly costing more.
I agree that the issue is technically a non issue, similar to albums and conquest mode, so why is it that when I want to change a variant in my deck I am forced to stare and horrible neon with every...single....card...in...my....deck.
If players want to have goals like completing albums or gettting those shinies, sure you can get gold for free, as well as credits and tokens, 6k gold is 6 seasons worth of rank 90. (12 cards @ x500) so one deck of cheap tin borders for a pure F2P player who simply hoardes gold and suffers no FOMO for variants. WOuld I consider that 'affordable for a deck?" I mean, if I got dropped on my head as a baby yeah, but since I and I HOPE for many....plz for the love of the game, don't waste the trickles.
My issue lies in the placement of them in the UI as well as the simple and longstanding issue of not once tweaking the ladder rewards after they introduced the spotlight system.
Daily challenges give you like 250 gold a week, no? Season passes also give you some amount of free gold. It's not that starved of "it'll take you half a year" to complete your goal. Heck, the only reason I haven't finished my first album by just using F2P gold is because Dan Hipp Kazar won't pop up in my shop. (Edit: Oop sorry, add in some paid season pass gold, I forget I buy those and they're not F2P)
I will say though, they could probably just sell more if they actually matched supply and demand instead of overpricing them, they could definitely be cheaper and it'd be more advantageous.
