Just steal the Hearthstone Arena format.
Give people the opportunity to play a Draft mode where they can test out cards they don't have/build a deck on the fly from a limited selection provided to each player, and then pit them against each other. Maybe between rounds both players are given the opportunity to swap out a card.
In all CCGs, my favorite mode has always been drafts. But I really don’t see how this can be added to Marvel Snap.
After playing for six months and not even buying all the season passes, I collected most of the cards. The number of missing cards for the yen is about ten. That is, the draft will simply provide experience playing on a worse deck.
What the OP described reminded me of the two-headed giant mode from MTG. When players play in pairs against each other. This seems more suitable and feasible from a gameplay base perspective. But there will be difficulties in implementing this well on phones.
If we look at things realistically, then most likely we will get something like an event on Valentine's Day. Cards will temporarily gain new abilities. But they should move this into a separate mode so as not to spoil the balance in the standard and give the cards more radical changes.
AFFILIATION MODE-Where you play snap within the hero teams or villain teams for additional bonuses and were you win group cards with its variants to help you in this mode. The Avengers, Black Order, Masters of Evil, Guardians, were you are playing those decks were the members of those teams garnish you bonuses. Also keep in mind, not all the cards work together well within this mode.
For example, say the X-men, Havoc could be problematic, or have a specific archetype fit.
The incentive to get an X-men, Avengers, Pym tech, or whatever with its own ability would be an enticing one. This is a mode which would fit a tournament format or getting that group card as a top prize you cannot earn by simply playing that mode.
I think you got a clue of this with the Power Couples. Now that is their wish and they made that suggestion to SD.
I do not think you can add MODES that alter the premise of SNAP, in trying to slow games down.
I don't see any modes that were definitive in their Road Map for 2024.
They are not going to just add a mode, just to add a mode.
Go to their discord and make a suggestion.
Anyway my girls thoughts on a new mode. As for me, I am playing less and less, so I could take a break. We will see.
Yeah, despite my girls cute suggestion, their road map was not very clear to any new mode. Guild mode and guilds could get toxic if handled wrong LM.
I am not sure how that fits their snap mode.
I could understand a Tournament Mode, Group Mode, or some creative modes within the SNAP format, but Guilds worry me a little. They would trying to create social platforms to garnish sales, within the game that could lead to a mess, but we will see what they have in mind.
Or like team drafts in Magic, just without drafts. Three players in a team facing against another team in Conquest mode.
