Not sure what to consider now.

After the King of The Castle Bundle mistake causing the website purchases to gain an increased amount whereas everyone else did not, I still can't get over it.
I refunded the bundle purchase and ended up at -8000 Gold because of it. I had to purchase two bundles of gold to get out of the hole I dug myself in simply to redeem the free daily credits.
Now, I know you might say 'you should of contacted support' and I did, I finally received a reply from them last friday, well past all of this.

I know find myself looking a bit on the outside and the new cards, the buffs, nefts, OTAs, complaining, hiding the bundles now, charging for albums and emotes and not seeing any on the ladder has just got me....I'm not even sure I'm excited about the new season.

Does anyone else feel this way? I mean, everyone does at some point but after that negative gold and the bundle inequality really effected me. After spending all the time and money and enjoying things simply as 'they were' now I feel that Palworld might be the better option for me, at least for now.

HAs anyone stopped playing and then returned? What's it like not having all the cards?

They compensated the people that bought under the presumption of the extra gold. There was no visual error in the client so there was nothing to compensate.

You did a charge back, it's handled very similar in every game out there if you do it, hell a lot of games will straight up ban your account for it, this is not SD specific behaviour.

It's a video game, if your feeling burnt out / not enjoying it take a break my dude.

I know what happened, but thanks for understanding. I also know it's really not anyone's fault for purchasing wherever they did, what I can't get over is the whole issue getting basically downplayed to nothing. Ever since then I just see how for example the new season launches and Black Swan is out and about and here we go again with Thanos! BUT NO! It's the same meta, that I was in yesterday and for the past month. Jumped into Conquest thinking that Supergiant + Absorbing Man and then Alioth or Doom or Shang Qi or literally any sort of difference but it's the same old thing. Same shop, 15 and a 45 dollar bundle after everyone spends ten bucks to grab the pass only to see 1200 gold variants for albums with emotes.

With SDs current philosophy of releasing some overturned cards but not being afraid to tune them down later along with the spotlights stepping away now to maybe return later will probably be a pretty good experience.

You will be missing cards yes, but with how spotlights work you should be able to gather cards fairly fast with missing more then the standard 1 new card a week. Anything Meta breaking will eventually be tuned down so you shouldn't feel terribly behind.

If Ming sees this maybe she could chime in how her catch up experience is going after taking a break from the game, I don't really know first hand.

I think it's pretty much like Tray said. With the spotlight system and series drops catching up should be easier than ever, but like Tray I can only guess.

I mean I know I went from 7 cards to completion to like 26 in the 6 month gap. Been back a month now, and currently missing 24 cards, and down to 8 keys. We know with the increased frequency that if you took 6 months off you would be down about 30 cards. But how many of those 30 are bad. The best ones I'm missing are Iron Lad from before I stopped, and Miss marvel, gladiator, Revonna, Werewolf and Alioth from that break. I was able to get everything else of value that I wanted already.

Im more concerned with series 5 going to 4 and how often that is now. After the initial drop last month or the month before, have there been any significant drops series wise?

Oh, no since I took a 6 month break I whaled kind hard this month. I got the iron man from the webstore whale track I am somewhat ashamed to admit. My normal spending is about $60 a month. So we will be mostly limiting ourselves to that again.

That's really not too bad considering I'm missing 11 currently that aren't Meta relevant and I have no interest in collecting them, and another handful I do have along the lines of Havok to mess around with when I'm not feeling competitive.

Being at the mercy of what cards the Devs decide to put in the Spotlights isn't probably great though.

I stopped playing last March, Nimrod season. I finished BP, and I said enough. I couldn't stand the meta, the card acquisition, pretty much everything. I came back in November, Ms.Marvel season. After eight months of hiatus, I was completely naked and without the cards. I was playing my old Patriot deck. Now, I am missing 16. cards. Seven S4s, and nine S5s. I've spent a decent amount of money to catch up(by decent I mean I completed a whale track from the web shop), but I find the game way more enjoyable and rewarding than before. I have almost all the cards that I want. You need a few months break. You are not going to lose anything. Play some other games.

Thanks for the kind words everyone. I think for Chinese New Year I'll just stop trying so hard to complete the circle over and over.
It's really cool to consider that there are so many games out that can easily be just as fun, cost less, and have outcomes that lead to satisfaction.
And yet, well...
