No it's pretty sensible, but I will be putting you in that camp of ignoring any future advice from you.
King says pretty clearly he thinks the resources are worth getting and it might be worth risking some keys to get some of those resources, and while a guarantee is no doubt better and safer, the idea that never taking risks is the absolute best move is just insane.
I've gotten many good cards and new cards specifically by doing 2 key tries, sometimes without even being able to use 4 keys if I wanted to. It's certainly worth risking if it's a card you want and the other cards you could get are beneficial to you.
Let us get off this topic please. I cannot be anymore clearer than that. Stop trying to cancel others. Stay on topic
SELENE, IRONLAD, BLACK KNIGHT, what a players chooses to do is their choice.
If you have an opinion on the cards, that is what the tread is about.
Let's stop going after one another.
My take on her is, you really need a very fine line, specific card sequence to get her to be consistent.
Six key cards that did not allow me a lot of flexibility.
Hood/Selene/Annie/Goblins/Ravonna/Sentry
Now as a base, not bad at all, very deadly, however when you start to add cards, have to be very careful. You cannot play Galactus with any type of flood lane effect, need that one lane from sending Hobs or Sentry Neg over. The other issue for me with her is priority. You don't want to run into an Alioth, or Pwr.
Now you add a Shadow King and Shang-Chi, two great counters to power, your fine, even if Selene hits one of them. The one archetype you don't want Galactus running into is destroy especially if you don't have that pwr counter and priority is dangerous in these deck types. I found fitting Black Widow problematic too on curve.
Mirror Annie is very hard, if you have priority, because many have a ghost or absorbing man to duplicate Annie's effect to kill you on turn six. I found trying to add a Ghost or Absorbing man, anything so I had priority on turn 6, even Alioth, a tough match up. This was even harder if they don't run Selene on their side, because toxic seems better without her in mirror.
Five deck constructs I tried her in
FULL TOXIC-Great if you flood the lanes fully, because power can bite you here. A kill-monger, a Destroy, can ruin your day if you allow any room. You either go full toxic here or don't and despite breaking 50/50 in 20 matches, I just the card selections crucial.
Man Thing, Scorpion, Black Widow, Hazmat, Cage, getting those two lanes down a struggle. This surprised me because this is what this card is designed for and its not enough.
GALACTUS/SELENE-Get him off more than I thought I would and a lot of escapes if I had two lanes secured. Very dangerous deck. You could add an Alioth, but I found him unnecessary. Many did not see this coming, which was surprising at my level, with no real counter if Sentry Neg or Hob had one lane. Even if they destroy that negative, they could not make up the 5 or more pwr in that lane. However, again, not a deck you will run a muck in.
SELENE LOCKDOWN-This was interesting, because I found I could really secure one lane consistently, but found I have an easier time by not using Selene. I had flexibility. She allows you to really hurt you in one lane and Prof X, Ms Marvel is huge here. Here I just wanted to have two separate themes that worked, but complimenting them can be tricky. Didn't matter if Selene hit a pwr card. They cannot get that Prof X lane, and you simply clog neg the other. Very nice, got an infinite ticket with this deck, but I have no chance in infinite with it.
SELENE MR NEG-Here I just experimented. However I found I could not stay within her central themed cards. Here you are working outside the box.
Selene merely disrupts them with you taking a hit on a card not to use.
Nebula/Prof X/Ironman/Ravonna/White T/etx, it just was a struggle, and You don't draw Mr. Negative, the deck falls apart, It was not good
SELENE/LOKI-had some fun here, but again, she is not necessary in this deck.
Overall, I have no issue with Selene as a disrupt and needs her theme to work, but just too many counters, too many outs for the player. Too many strong Meta decks that destroy what she is trying to do. She needs more cards to truly be a power house. She is not.
She may get more help, but at around a 47-50 percent win rate overall. I totally get many who skipped. Was she fun, sure, but a lot of work. She will not put you in the Meta.
