Exactly like mine. Black Screen with only Steam FPS Counter at top left showing 60fps
I mean my laptop is old but it run the old PC client quite well on Low setting. And when the stuck happen my CPU and GPU usage is low, so i think its not like because the new client too heavy or something
:::EDIT:::
I FIXED IT
So I just check my file Integrity. Trying to enter again and still black screen. I restarted my laptop and sudennly the game just run fine
The new client is heavy though, at least on my old laptop. On Low, i got only 45fps and my laptop fan sounded its about to explode
This "fix" did nothing for me.
I have the same problem, I tried to check the integrity of the files, uninstall and reinstall, check the integrity again and nothing. I have identified the problem, after the login screen it should play a video (I tried it on another computer and it worked) but on my PC the video never starts and it gets stuck there. I don't know if there is any way, any argument for the executable that allows me to skip the introduction video.
Lol if its because they had an add video talking about the Official Steam game Released I will be pissed, like a lot.
I have concluded that is something related with resolution, so a poorly formated video it could be that is causing the issues.
We need to identify what is the video file name and deleted it, game may (should) work after....
What I did was reinstall my video codec drivers and just that 3 mins install fixed the issue which was steam while opening marvel snap couldn't load/display the new intro video because they use some weird video codec format and it wasn't incompatible.
So Fix Step by step:
- On Windows machines;
-Download a Video Codec/Update the one you have, I personally use K-Lite Codec Pack
Full version (Free Open Source Video Codec)
- Download here:
https://www.codecguide.com/download_kl.htm
- Before installing it run it over an antivirus, never had trouble with virus but who knows...
- When installing select you want to use Windows Media Player Classic as your preferred media player and
- Important reset all your video, video codecs settings to default(Do not Forget)
- Enjoy Working Marvel Snap on Steam.
Thank you. Unfortunately did not work here
