Token = control over what you want to buy
new box = for new cards good, but if you miss one card you have to wait until it is in the box, so you need always 4 unopened boxes ready, because you never know what they will put into the box until the new week's release is announced.
Unopened boxes now (old system) will turn into the new ones every 10 boxes, so best don't open any box till they put the new system live.
"Every 9 Collector’s Reserve now contain:
– 2 x Series 3 or below cards
– 1 x 100 Tokens
– 3 x Credits Box that can contain 150 or 200 Credits (more chance of 200 compared to Cache)
– 3 x Cosmetic"
I'm a bit confused what s3 compensation they will give us. My guess is that it will work like the new boxes work. They might give you a variant of the s3 card, that you would get, if you were not complete.

Before the "flexible drops", they used to drop 4-5 cards to series 3 each month. Those cards we basically free if you were series 3 complete as you would get one of them in every four reserves. From now on, if they only drop one card to series 3 like they did with Shauna in June, will we really get more new cards overall?
To the question "How does this interact with Flexible Series Drops?" Second Dinner answered:
"This feature requires a healthy supply of Series 4 and 5 cards to function—more than our previous system could maintain over time. The recent reduction in Series Drop frequency for cards from Series 4 to Series 3 ensures that we can continue giving away this many cards through Spotlight Caches at this pace."
So, in the end, it might evens out for the amount of new cards per month (maybe less) but they will also removes the gold and greatly reduce the amount of collector's tokens from the collection track meaning less flexibility to buy stuff and target the cards that we want. And that looks really bad to me.
TJDR: The new system can be seen as an upgrade to the collection track but did everyone forget about the recent changes in series drops?
It's these bundles. They will flood the game with bundles that you better know what you are doing for variants of the same characters. Always have choice of-course, but some are just silly.
I found this answer from SD:
Are series 3 complete players still getting 100 tokens when they would have opened a series 3 card in a normal reserve?
Fallback token is now 50 Tokens if you have all Series 3 cards.
While losing all agency in what cards you actually want to collect.
Kinda stinks tbh.
I'm going to open all boxes and not hoard them until the new system hits, because token have more value after the new system than before.
With just box token, you need 15 months to get 6000 Token from boxes. And token are the only way to get the card you want kind of asap, without having to wait till they put it in their featured box.
I'm hoarding, but then, my collection is almost complete, so the chances of getting the missing cards in the boxes are quite high.
Yeah I think if you are f2p, or play very casually, its fine. If your over 5k in collection power, you probably have most or all of the cards anyway.
What your seeing a lot of players do is hoard like x20-x40 of those in a month and open them then. At one time, not as you go. That hurts their sales line. Resource management right. If they are introducing a card of the month for battle pass and x3-x4 cards per month, one per week, then players are hoarding to garnish a lot of tokens to get them without costing them money.
Players will adjust to the new system, and as you go forward, let's say 6 months from now players will have better opportunities to fill their collection.
8 million players, this is about getting new players, allowing them to stay within the game longer, because they can only barter with you once through the collection level right, so it needed to change.
Most of these bundles are cosmetics, a variant, some avatar, a card back, etx.
I have one daughter at 6k in collection power, plays and does very well, have another on her phone playing totally free a little over 1k
So it's what you get out of the game and everyone plays for their reasons.
Its a fun game, competitive I get, but that should always be your reason to play. Not winning 2 bazillion dollars playing snap (yet), so when people start boasting and putting down others because they copy CC's decks or go on untapped. What can I tell ya.
Just have fun, or don't play. Always choice
You need 120 level for one new box. So If someone wants to hoard 20-40 of those boxes a month, he needs between 120 000 - 240 000 credits per month.
One new box = 6000 credits on the ladder
To make sure to get the card you want (all 4 boxes) it would be 24 000 credits.
So if a good card comes out and the week afterwards another good card follows, you need, if you had bad luck (4 draws) in the first week, another 24k the next week.
This will boost gold sales and this is economically the reason why they changed it.
And let us not forget, they removed gold from the reserve boxes for a reason.
Well, at least they won't be pixels. I don't really mind a good-looking variant, and one-in-four is not so bad.
