wong /gambit combo

Hi as the topic said, i saw an abusse of the combo wong /gambit or better wong/gambit/mistique/odin and in this case you should discard 8 cards to activate it but the mechanic of game goes on even if the gamer has no cards left in his hands, and os you destroy others cards without discarding yours. this thing doesnt work for other cards with the same ability i.e. moonknight(on reveal :both players discard a card) i mean you have to discard 8 cards to use it and if you dont have cards left , the mechanic doesnt work....so why you dont correct this well know mistake,? or its right to use a card without following the ability on it?

It's not a condition, it's an effect. If you have to discard and your hand is empty, nothing happens.

You realize Gambit is broken in multiple ways right? He'll continue to discard non existing cards sure, but he will also never destroy any card that isn't flipped up already, unlike Galactus that will nuke an entire board regardless of if cards are face up/down, and people could just put swarm in their deck and never play it to pull off the gambit combo and discard infinite cards so it wouldn't change anything in that regard.

That's not even taking into account that they've screwed up the art itself on the variant that costs 1200 gold to buy, I'd like them to fix that before reworking the card in all honesty.

you are wrong. it destroys the other cards anyway until the mechanic is over , even if your hand is empty, so you get actions for free. that is a mistake and the devs should correct it

im not arguing the fact you could use the combo many times im saying that if you have to discard 8 cards to use it you should have 8 cards in your hands, otherwise the play should

Lets be real though, you let a Wong combo get off 8 triggers, you can replace gambit with iron heart, surfer, hell probably even a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ white tiger.

All of those would of beat you, if you had no way to counter what was coming down into the Wong lane you should of scooped.

It doesn't say: Discard a card from your hand to destroy a random enemy card. Gambit has two On Reveal abilities. They proc independently.

Gambit is a decent card, but Wong/Gambit combo as win condition sucks. Has so many counters.

yeah it's an exodia combo, you giggle when it goes off, but there's a ton of plays that counter it handily, that said my favourite thing ever is still fully wiping a filled board of an opponent.

Also to the person that said it doesn't go off without cards to discard, trust me, it does, considering I've had more triggers go off than they're capable of putting cards on the board (I think it was 16+ when onslaught citadel was the hot location) but again Gambit is nowhere near broken even if left the way he is considering the positive bit (you don't need to have the cards to discard to proc trigger) is actively countered by him never hitting face down cards.

That said, again, Second Dinner please fix my favourite variant, I want my kitties visible damnit!
