Something wrong with the mac version?

Started this game a few days ago and I'm already hooked. I'm not going for 100% but I would like to complete as much of the game as I can, and I think that seeing the true ending should fall under that. Unfortunately, after a four hour session of playing the first two boards, restarting if I don't get Theocracy or The Red Book in these levels, and finishing the run if I do (hoping that I'll pick up the other along the way) then I have never once encountered both of them on the same run. hello. i just got the game, and played a session of ~40 minutes, after a while i realized the screen was flashing crazily, so i exited the game. now whatever i do on the screen, it seems that the chessboard is "burnt in" in the background of the screen, did the game ruin my monitor somehow? i am so confused by this - it looks like a watermark, will be going to bed now, and leave the PC off of power and hope it resolves itself, but i have never seen such a thing happen, especially from a session of only 40 ...
