Far cry 2 stuck in windowed mode

I can't figure out how to get it so the game is not in windowed mode, If I go into the benchmark utility and pick users settings it ticks the windowed box but in the actual game I cannot find that option, I've spent a good hour messing around and I even deleted the game from my pc and reloaded it but I'm stuck in windowed mode no matter what.

Can you help?

If you press ALT & ENTER at the same time you will get full screen.
