Woah! You got the full kit with the fans too? Still have it?
Still have it 10 years later, yeah. Lol. But done away with the lighting since it started flickering. Mainly drag it out for Far Cry 2 for the fans and rumble now.
It only connects to the PC with a USB. But be warned driver installation is an involved procedure since it doesn't actually support Windows 7 and up. Still works in Win10 though.
What was setup like for windows 10? im vaguely curious in this cuz i never knew it existed lol got a list of the games it worked with by chance? what would i google to get more info on it all?
Seems it's all been wiped off the internet. I saved a bunch of files, and a copy of the wiki page for setting it up on Win7 and up. Sometimes your past self was being smart. I can upload them all somewhere if you need it.
There's very few games that utilize all the effects to the fullest:
Far Cry 2 (by far the best and only one I consider worth using it for)
Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway (never played but it was one of the tech demos for amBX so support should be just as good as FC2)
Ubisoft was pretty keen on the kit so most of their big titles from around 2008 have some support. But ultimately amBX failed for being too expensive and gimmicky, so it quickly stopped getting new games. Most games would allow you to use the dynamic background lighting at least. These days there are way better options for that.
