Black Screen Fix

How I fixed my black screen on start up. Go to C:\Users\YOURPC\Documents\My Games\Far Cry 2 and edit the GamerProfile.xml (use notepad) Look for Maximized="1" and change it to Maximized="0". Also change Fullscreen="1" to Fullscreen="0". Start up game and hopefully it will be windowed. Go in to settings and change Direct X version from 9 to 10.

Restart game and it should work fine. Press Alt+Enter to fullscreen it.

Hey Cheers for the help :) first one of my save files got corrupted and I couldnt progress through the sotry because even though the UFLL bodyguard let me inside and said he needed to keep my weapons the door was closed. After deleting that file and exiting the game, I tried to open the game again later that day to play again, but the screen was black. the game was running normally i just couldnt see anything.

Do you have a widescreen Monitor, friend? If so, maybe this should help: Just like he suggested, edit the configurations of the GamerProfile.xml and set "ForceWidescreen" to 1, "Maximized" to 0 and "Fullscreen" to 1. this helped me and I can play fulscreened again. As for the DirectX thing, I dont think it makes much of a difference. in my case it didnt make any difference.

Helo, i have a problem that in fullscreen my game flicks black screens at random when he feels like it, and i been mesing up with the setings but nothing seems to work, it started out of nowhere. Tried to play in windowed but it wont let me match the resolution of my monitor (1920x1080) even if i choose it (the option just changes but nothing happens)
