Far Cry 2

Guy wont appear in gun shop
I just started up the game, and went through most of the intro tutorials. But when I got to the point where I have to visit Mike's Gun Shop, the game says he's not there when I enter, and that I should come back later. Well, after resting at the first safehouse 4-5 times and checking it between each one, I can be assured that he will never appear at the gun shop, making it impossible to progress. Is anyone else having this problem?

Edit: Nevermind, you just have to buy something from the computer.

Yeah, the tutorial is insistent you follow every step, such as checking your map that shows you where the car you have to fix is, even if you fix it before looking at the map. The tutorial stage ends after you leave the Pala church.
Oh my god, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ really? ♥♥♥♥ you Ubisoft, ♥♥♥♥ YOU. All I had to do was buy a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ gun. WOW.
Oh, hi Dave Jan 13, 2015 @ 5:32pm
The game tells you to go buy a gun :|

To avoid future frustration/tedium, here's a few tips.
1. After you get tired of being chased through outposts, use the buses and boats to travel. Drive around outposts or sneak by them.
2. Save at a safehouse nearby every mission. I've repeated at least an hour or two of gameplay because I got so engrossed and forgot to save, then died.
3. Change your weapon loadout, experiment. It may seem like there's less freedom than the latest Far Cry's because of a lack of perks and customization, but the weapons are really diverse in the options they give you.

1) id like to know why all people are complaining about the outposts.. get a car, and drive through them.. shouldnt be a problem, unless you are a blind and drunk driver
2) press F5 for instantsave

i even prefer the outpost system in FC2 over the Fc3 one. once you cleaned out the FC3 outposts, no enemies will spawn anymore. very boring open world after completing the boring story.

Game told me it was the best place to get a weapon, and then told me that the shopkeep is not always there. 2 and 2 together, I assumed you had to come back when he was there.

Not entirely. You can go into settings and reset all outposts in FC3, and fight for them all over again. A bit dumb, honestly, but it gives the game a sort of "arcade mode." You initially capture the outposts more to support yourself in the actual story, but by resetting them it is almost like a survival mode addon to a shooter game based around the story or multiplayer.

Yeah... I mean, the "spirit" of the game is better than that of 3. But the bugs and stuff just make me want to cry. I made a forum post about how my grenades started flying out of the bottom right corner of my screen, instead of the center when I throw them.

Yeah, AC Unity and Kerbal Space Program don't have any issues at all; I don't understand all of the fuss!

4 years later and I did the same. They sure did a bad job on this haha Now I know too that I need to check the computer. I was starting to get mad at that lazy guy for never showing up for work.

Oh no ♥♥♥♥ I just reinstalled this game today to give it another go, just before checking my steam notifications.
