Is this actually a newly released update? - My net speed is so slow (27kbs) just checking
is a huge pain.

I updated it on May 29th, but it was just a minor visual fix.

No gameplay changes in a couple of months.

It's a small 50mb file so not too bad if you have to grab it.

Thanks - but I did the calcs and at that 'speed' (using the term very loosely) it takes
6 minutes to DL 1mb. - That's about 1/2 the transfer rate of a 32 baud modem on
dial-up back in 1992 and roughly 10,000 times slower than a very laggy 2mbs of
today's standards.

- I'm finally getting cable installed in a few weeks and can DL it in under a second and
save myself the five hour DL ; ] + I want to play out my trial runthrough of R+R first 8 )

Yea dude this game with RR is amazing. I started playing yesterday and didn't stop till I was 30% haha all day session.

FC5 or FC6 like FC2 would be GOTY easy. Ubi blew it bigtime chasing tiny Tim and that COD money. fp

I'm approaching the third malaria break at around 70-80% and after a week or more of
wandering and then returning to finish up I should be all set to restart with the upgrade.

- I've been hobbled for years and going to burn up the wires when I get cable svc.

Guy came last monday to do the install - The pole is over 200' from my house.

my svc. down to prehistoria I cant even watch vids anymore. - When I finally have

- I think the main reason that doesn't happen so much in other games is because in
FC2 there are no interruptions that remove you from the game world except for when
you check your menu stats and the very few loading sequences, (three in the entire
game) which are actually just brief blackouts.

Most modern games are plagued by cut-scenes, hud clutter and multiple 'maintenance'
screens required for detailed resource management and bogus "achievements". - Just
how pathetic is that ? - Here's a prime example - In FC3 you get some kind of 'award'
for using every kind of syringe.

- You'd think that there'd be an award for surviving with just one, and a greater award
for not using any.

That's the modern business model - appeal to the masses with shiny meaningless objects
and objectives - warping the purpose of the adventure to jumping through hoops for lollly pops. The art of adventure-scripting abandoned in favor of the cheapest production possible.

Oh man, I remember spending hours to make my mod smaller because doing frequent updates with balkan internet took ages while uploading the files.

Except it’s not cheaper but more expensive which is even dumber.

I'm playing through the System Shock remake for the 2nd time already. There are a lot of similarities in the game design of SS and FC2. You are free to do what you want, and approach situations in different ways. The game doesn't hold your hand, or waste your time.
