fullscreen and 1080p issue

so i installed far cry 2 today and launched the game.
tweaked the visual settings first, setting it on 1080p resolution.
for some reason, i can either run the game on 900p and fullscreen, or 1080 in a window.
this is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ridiculous and day-z already pissed me off for the day ... complete waste of 24 bucks, the games not even worth 10 ..

all i need to know is, how to get the game run properly on 1080p AND fullscreen !
all these issues make me sick.

Did you try pressing Alt+Enter? There is also a fullscreen setting in the configuration file which sometimes needs to be changed.

heres something:
i configured the user file, i set it all to full screen mode.
i did try alt+enter but this only makes the fullscreen mode go 900p resolution, the 1080p resolution doesnt work in fullscreen.
i tried big picture mode, its the same outcome.
(big picture mode or a controller dont change the way the .exe file starts up, mister pc noobs.

It's weird that setting the game as fullscreen didn't work for you. I just started playing the game today and ran into the same issue. I stumbled upon this topic, I set the game as fullscreen in GamerProfile.xml as mentioned by Plaid and it fixed the problem.

Here is the line to modify in your "C:\Users\username\Documents\my games\Far Cry 2\GamerProfile.xml" :

I'm running the game in 1920x1080 under DX10 mode on a widescreen laptop.

i had to change my tv resolution itself to 1080p because the game is too stupid to figure.

oh, you were playing on a TV screen... it could have helped if you had mentioned it in the first place. well, it's cool that your game is running fine now!

i never thought about it in the first place, because every single other game worked fine.
far cry 2 being the only exception.

when i select 1920x1080 and after then apply anyway i see 1600x900:ccc help me pls

ohh i just thought of somthing in the xml file theres a line that has <quality ResolutionX="1280" ResolutionY="720" try changing to 1080 see if that helps

I have the same problem, in profile confi is 1920x1080 but the game works in 1600x900... did you fix it?
