heres something:
i configured the user file, i set it all to full screen mode.
i did try alt+enter but this only makes the fullscreen mode go 900p resolution, the 1080p resolution doesnt work in fullscreen.
i tried big picture mode, its the same outcome.
(big picture mode or a controller dont change the way the .exe file starts up, mister pc noobs.
huge mistake
Here is the line to modify in your "C:\Users\username\Documents\my games\Far Cry 2\GamerProfile.xml" :
<RenderProfile MultiSampleMode="0" AlphaToCoverage="0" ResolutionX="1920" ResolutionY="1080" Quality="customd3d10" Fullscreen="1" Maximized="0" ForceWidescreen="0" WidescreenFOV="1" AspectRatio="0" VSync="0" RefreshRate="60" DisableMip0Loading="0" MaxDriverBufferedFrames="0" Platform="d3d10a" ShowFPS="1" ClustersZPassMaxLOD="1" Brightness="1" Contrast="1" GammaRamp="1" GammaRampR="1" GammaRampG="1" GammaRampB="1" AllowAsynchShaderLoading="1">
I'm running the game in 1920x1080 under DX10 mode on a widescreen laptop.
you wont believe it but its still running in a window 8) ill try something else and see it that works.
i had to change my tv resolution itself to 1080p because the game is too stupid to figure.
far cry 2 being the only exception.
lmao calling others "pc noobs" when you haven't even attempted to look at the config file, before asking for help. irony
config file didnt help, smart butts.
