Side Missions are Flawed

Ok so I have posted about technical problems before and I have found ways to get past them (I turn VSync on and off all the time) and I think I am coming up to the end of the game now, and I only just found out it is impossible to get 40/40 side missions accomplished if a buddy has never died.

Well screw it, as much as I like this game I am going to have to turn off my perfectionist/completionist mentality and pretend the side missions isnt out of 40. lol

Im going through all the Far Crys, I recently finished the first one on realistic difficulty, I almost finished this one on Infamous, its just annoying that there are so many broken/illogical things about this game.

Also I have never been able to input my code because I keep getting a message "Far Cry 2 servers are down", does the code give you any additional missions?

I have always been able to complete all 40 side missions regardless if no buddies have died. If memory serves (it's been a while since I played last) once you complete eight buddy mission in the north (ditto the south) you cannot complete the remaining two buddy missions until you've completed the next available main mission. After that, once you return to Mike's bar, your final buddy should be available for you to accept a mission.

Ye but I was naive and didnt think I needed to swap my best buddies for my secondary buddies to get their 2 missions aswell, didnt know it was setup like that ;( aww well, Ill end up getting 36/40 but Im willing to ignore it lol, I blame Ubisoft, naturally.

I missed 2 buddy missions from the plane crash NPC, unless that one doesn't have any.

I may have missed 1 more: Do both the best buddies (North and South) gain 20 favoritism, or does the southern one only get 19?

I'm replaying on Infamous now to goof off with weapons I didn't get around to before, so I try for a copletionist run too.

Ok so I literally just finished the game on Infamous I got EVERYTHING except for

*a few weapon upgrades, I got all the diamonds EVER but not enough for all the upgrades. Got all weapons and other upgrades though.

*Only 30/40 side missions but thats because I was not aware we had to make sure the buddy list was rotated, Im perfectly fine with ignoring that though, I think its the games fault for not perfectly explaining to us how that works. Ok so from what I understand each person has two missions for you when they are on your list, only 3 people can be at the bar at a time, so if you havnt done the missions of your rescue buddy you need to find a way to make him have his history points supercede your best buddy so that he can be the one at the bar and his missions will be available. Also from what I understand there should be 6 people to find all together in the NORTH district, 5 in the SOUTH. How this all works, I have no idea, and frankly its pretty messy, I suggest you google it, there is a big discussion about this on a game faqs board. Apparently with ALL the buddies and the gun missions and antenna missions you should have 22/40 by the time you get to the SOUTH.

Make sure to do the optional blue objectives throughout if you want the 12/12 buddy missions accomplished.

I got 100% completion in stats page, but didn't find (or notice) the followign 2 on Google.
1) My southern best buddy only had 19, not 20 reputation increase, not sure if he can have 20.
2) My plane-crash dude didn't rotate for some reason, going to try again this game.

Not all buddy quests count on stats page, just the ones that redirect us in missions, unless I'm forgetting odd-ball ones.

I had 1k diamonds and that bought everything except the vehicles that don't have mounted weapons.

you can actually complete 42/40 side missions if u rescue all friends and dont get them killed before doing their side mission. Also in the north part of the map there are 6 pals to rescue and you have to kill at least one at some pt because the game allows for only 5 at a time ( 4 in mikes bar, 1 rescue ready ) so you can mercy kill the one u hate the most to make place for the 6th buddy in north.

At any part in the game you will have the option to kill either one of your 2 best buddy ( one rescue ready or one just after completing a buddy main story mission) . So u should kill one of those. I personally kill the one using a weak shotgun to make place for a buddy using ak-47 or better weapon that can save ur ass )

i wanted more assassinations missions in this game - oh well :D - regarding buddy side missions ( playing only on last difficulty on this game ) , i do all of them - probably 36 in my case because i dont rotate/or get buddies killed - also i dont need them ever , ever to help me because i manage to clear all the bad guys if im very rarely detected ( playing stealth ) - so you could say i dont care in general about the buddies system - i used them only to prolong the missions time ( by answering the phone when they call to meet and give me a secondary option ) !

i tried it a few times and it works

beat me to it....i was about to post the fact that you can have 42. I have screenshots on my profile to prove this. I think the one even has 43 if i'm not mistaken....weird bug where i activated a weapon convoy mission and rescued a buddy and it "completed" the weapon mission, but didnt give me the goods. I have to reactivate the mission again, but it gave me a tally in the side missions total.
