crashes on startup.

Crashing when i start the game, cant even get on the menu to change settings or play it.

I am having this issue as well. Tried a whole bunch of suggestions, and I was only able to run the game once I removed the Sweet FX mod and GES (Graphical enhancement suite). So if you have any kind of mods active that may be your problem

Nope no mods. have no idea why it isnt working. i actually consider it a scam. lol

Bummer, couple other quick suggestions would be running as administrator, running in compatibility mode, disabling shadowplay, which is a part of nvidia gforce experience.

I dont know how to do some of those things. How do you run a game as administrator

Go to this file location C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Far Cry 2\bin - and right click the Far Cry 2 application and say Run as Administrator. If you right click and go to properties you can change the compatibility mode as well.

I think the problem was when i changed my settings in FC2 the directx 10 i think i changed it to 9 i dont know but i cant change it back because i now cant get on the game.

This was in another thread: Some other suggestions I found... Go to C:\Users\\Documents\My Games\Far Cry 2 and open the file called "GamerProfile.xml" with wordpad or notepad Then Change Platform="d3d9" to Platform="d3d10"
