Very realistic = FC2
Far Cry 2 Has the most independent freedom of any game I've ever played.
- it's always a bit dangerous. - Avoid the roads and any conflicts that aren't necessary.
Use stealth to get in close for surprise attacks. - No linear missions. Multiple approaches
to targets.
No 'forced' missions, there are nearly always multiple missions available to chose
from, and all contribute to your success, unlike the meaningless side errands in FC3.
Africa is Huge and Beautiful - lots of variation in environment and game play.
A thoughtful game where exploration and using the map for planning routes to
targets is your key to survival.
- It's the most realistic and immersive of all the FC games.
I loved 3 for the map and the South seas environ and played for three years, but you'll
spend half the game using menus to sort out all the junk you have to collect and sell,
and managing exp. points and skill trees, killing animals and crafting things you should
already have like your holsters and wallets.
Wallets?? - Yup.
- How can you carry more cash unless you have a bigger wallet? - You cant just stuff
it in a bag or pocket.. NO... You'll have to find and hunt some animals down to make one.
Ridiculous. - Its a beautiful place - but the missions are mostly linear and you have few choices beyond what gun to use, and you will spend most of your time in game menus
- NOT the game world.
FC2 is still by far my favorite for the freedom features and game play of those points mentioned above.
- Best of Luck -
nothing to do with the story or game play, - It's all invented busy work - just padding
to make the game seem bigger and more complex. A 'knap sack menu, a exp points
menu a skills tree menu a junk collecting menu a crafting menu. - It's insane.
In Far Cry 2 - you are never taken out of the game. - Even the map is 'hand-held'
in-game so you can consult it even while driving. - Completely immersive with zero
interruptions from actual game play.
FC2 is a real adventure for those who give it a fair chance.
Once you realize the demands and understand the solutions it's by far the most
fun of any game I've ever played - (gaming since 1980).
It was born bug free but the newer hardware and frame rates caused issues that the
game was never designed for and about 2013 glitches started happening. - Multi-Fix
solves them all and even unlocks the extra machetes and missions. You can find that
and everything else about the game here:

and this forum is very supportive of new players and vets alike. You'll always find help
here on any subject or question no matter how slight - or how massive the problem.
- Best of Luck ! -
People love it - say it's a short game but fun. I wanted to play but the Waypoint
Auto save function didn't work, and there are no manual saves. I was always
thrown back to the start. - My impression was 'neon fun' but 'cheezy'; And I'm
being kind ; )
Ever pulled a length of rebar outa ya kneecap?
What about removing a piece of fencewire out of your forearm?
Now's your chance.
It's the first shooter I ever played that didn't involve monsters, aliens or robots.
Shooting people ina face for fun and profit.
It doesn't get any better'n this, imho.
Echo ! - FC2 is the real deal - nothing else compares. - With Redux mod - even better ! 8 )
