like a wise cracker but the actual quick fix might be a new keyboard.
I'm not fussy - i use a $20 Key Tronic and keep at least one spare KB and mouse for
backup. Spent years writing and couldn't afford to be shut down for a day.
Sorry i don't have more to offer
- Good Luck -
supply a fix.
Disconnect the keyboard from your computer.
Right-click on the Start menu.
Click the little icon in front of the entry to expand the keyboards segment.
Select Uninstall device & right-clicking on your keyboard input.
Your computer will restart.
Reconnect the keyboard when your system has restarted.
Also, CTRL + [ is the same as pressing Escape.
To try and tackle this, you can visit the following directories on your device, which is where your game files should be located:
%USERPROFILE%\Documents\My Games\Far Cry 2\GamerProfile.xml
%LOCALAPPDATA%\My Games\Far Cry 2\InputUserActionMap.xml
Taken into account that it's something that may be affecting you also outside Far Cry 2 game, you can also consider using 3rd party software that will allow you to remap your keys on the keyboard, where essentially you'd be able to replace your ESC key with something else.
Hope this helps and if you have any further queries, feel free to reach out at any time!

This is great to know - Thanks 8 )
Thanks for responding with specific info that directly addresses the problem.
Much appreciated !
Jut an added bit of info.. .xml is very close to .html in the respect that it is a markup language and follows the <opening tag>content</closing tag> syntax.
It's my suggestion you download Notepad++ and install it.
It's like Windows Notepad, but on serious steroids. It will certainly help you to decipher the XML code blocks. Do NOT use WordPad to edit XML
Cheers.
Thanks for sharing this too room217au!
