You can also try adding "- DevMode ON" to the command line. - ( I think I
have that right.)

Deleting Player.xml just resets - you don't lose anything. The game automatically
creates a new one based on your system at launch.
- Works for many oddities like what you described.

Launching with Multi-Fix? - and you deleted the player.xml?
you ->launch the game with it . It's not a 'Run-Once' fix.
