Does the steam version good?
Or is it another bad PC port?

There are some games that have poor optimization due to their port on PC. But Far Cry 2 is not the case. The game works great.

Glad to hear that, but then why it has a not-so-good review on steam?

Sounds good to me and recent reviews are positive also

It's not a game for the masses. It has some peculiar design choices like the fact that you need to traverse a good bit of the map to reach your objectives. The respawning outpost guards are also among the most criticized designs of the game. Lastly, there are some bugs that Ubisoft has never patched out and some (although small) effort is required from the user in order to have an almost flawless experience with the game.
To answer your original question: technically speaking the game is not badly ported. It just has some weird behavior when played at more than 60 frames-per-second.

I don't have problem with these so I guess it's fine.

Can this problem fixed with 'Revisiting Far Cry 2' guide tho?

Yes. You can also use Multi Fixer which is a comprehensive solution to the most common bugs and more.

The FPS problems are hilarious though in the beginning when the guys are jumping up and down... So you should leave it for a minute for the pure joy of it.

Are there any mods or fixes to make gamepad controls better? There's no button to interact or pick stuff up and no sensitivity adjustments. Default sensitivity is way to high like every other Far Cry game I've played so far.
