Far Cry 2 - Lag & Crashes on Win 10

Hello Everyone,

I recently discovered how to launch Far Cry 2 on my computer,
I used compatibility mod with Windows 98/ME.

It is the only way for me to launch the game but I've major lag issues....
In simple 1920x1080 with High settings, I've drop frame like a heartbeating....really strange
I used Far Cry Redux, it runs but it changes nothing...

If you need to run the game in compatibility mode there's some incompatibility with your system specifically. What happens when you try to run it normally? Also, what are your system spec?

it is simple, nothing happen. I see the splashscreen then it closes...

I use a iMAC 5K from 2017 with i7700k, 32go, SSD, Radeon Pro 580 (equivalent of RX580)
and Windows 10 (October Update). My GPU driver is up to date.

Are you running it in a virtual environment? ie. Boot camp ?

Yes I use Bootcamp.

I played this game previously on Windows 7 and still with Bootcamp and it ran perfectly.
FC2, FC3 and Blood Dragon have the same trouble and only with Ubisoft "old" games.
No problems with Metro Exodus, Doom Eternal, DOOM3 BFG, RDR2, Shadow Warrior I & II.
I think it is the game engine of Ubi games...

There are a lot of variables at play and this is honestly unknown territory for me but to the whole community in general. I never play on MACs so take a couple of my suggestions found in this thread as a last resort.

Hi !

I stopped try to launch it and instead of it, I virtualize Windows via Parallels Desktop Mac...
It works well ! About 90fps in HD settings. I think that's the easier way to end it for me.
This game deserve a remaster/remake with updated graphics, missions and more realistic animals.
