is there someway to switch from "hold aim" to "toggle aim" in the game files ?

anyone know how to change or mod the game files for toggle aim ? like far cry 3 and far cry 4 ?

Not really. Some folks suggest using an external program like autohotkey.

I've tinkered with this a bit, but never found a perfect solution.

You can extract the game, go to the config folder and look at the controls to see how aiming is handled.

I thought the "update" command would work, but it doesn't register for button presses. Your button options are Press, Hold, Release.

I eventually settled on changing startironsight to "hold" and stop to "press". This feels a little weird, and takes time to get used to.

You can also change sprint to toggle in this menu, although its also not a perfect solution. Less awkward than aiming, though.

Put tape on your mouse and remove it every time you want to stop aiming.
