How can i launch multiplayer server on steam version of FC2?is game ranger works?

The official multiplayer servers (for the PC version) were shutdown by Ubisoft.
As this game has LAN multiplayer support, we were used to play through Tunngle, but Tunngle were shutdown recently. Then we moved to EvolveHQ, and now EvolveHQ will be shutdown next November.
So we're now joining a Hamachi network to play it online.

Hello, If you are tired of Hamachi, I suggest ZeroTier, it requires some network knowledge but nothing insurmountable

Me and my friend have been working on a fix for multiplayer on PC, that fixes issues regarding multiplayer on LAN or via VPN services.
It fixes Far Cry 2 multiplayer issues for newer versions of Windows, like the "9999" ping issue.

Coming soon. Let me know if anyone is interested.

BTW: We've been playing this game (with the fix) for the last year or so without any issues.

Hi guys, I had the same problem, searching the net I came across this solution, it is a patch for the game, which overwrites the Local IP address by the vpn application and this makes it possible to play multiplayer Lan, It is compatible with various VPN applications, such as Hamachi, Radmin, etc. It worked wonders for me.
