far cry 2 shuts down my pc

so i recently bought far cry 2 on steam since it was 4 bucks or so , and im 20 mins into the game and my pc just shuts down specs are:
GTX 970
AMD 8350
psu: EVGA 600 B
MOBO: ASUS M5A97 LE R2.0
and water cooled with a corsair h60

are you not using vsync causing the game to run in the hundreds of fps at full hardware load?

Please read in particular the section regarding the launch parameters (how to fix bugs).

If you still can't get it to start, might require manual edit of the prefs.

I'm annoyed because I bought a few ubisoft games a few hours before the sale started.

Not even bothering with a refund:
"sometimes you just gotta smile, grab the uplay and bite the pillow".

Run from windows type "dxdiag" and hit enter - then post the information from the "display tab" that comes up (maybe worth running the "check drivers are signed" thing it pops-up).

Heck, post the system specs too, why not?

If opening the game, changing no settings, closing it and then re-opening it before trying to change settings doesn't work - please do the above.
