The game is full of things like this, things that feel like they have some kind of secret purpose but just, don't. The lab as a whole confuses me since it feels like there should be something THERE, but other than some rather weak fodder battles there just...isn't?
The prism's purpose is... to show how Sam got trapped later. That's that.
That would be such a letdown but after finishing the game, I'm inclined to believe that there's really nothing to it...
Although I find it strange that the eyes of the skeleton light up in peculiar patterns. Maybe there's something with it, or I'm just coping way too hard
That's where you come from if you die to the Dragon. It's the actual starting point, coming from Irvine's pocket dimension is totally optional. It's also why the paper next to the door says there's equipment to defeat the Dragon there.
Aha, so it IS possible for the lab to be your first interaction with Lucy, I wonder if there's unique dialogue for that.
