Hello, it's been a while!

Here's a list of the latest demo updates on v0.4 which hopefully be the final demo until the full release of the game:

Why 0.4?
The game is about 40% done! Full Release is still TBA since it's still handled by one person (me), it's going to take a while to develop but the development is still going! I'd highly appreciate if you could wishlist & share the game with anyone who thinks this game is their cup of tea!

[BUG] Getting stuck in the pool

If you quickly walk down the stairs that lead to the main lobby in the Institute, you can temporarily fall without touching the ground. I wanted to find out if I can fall into the second-floor pool by falling over the ledge beside the stairs. I succeeded in doing so, and when I tried to get out, I fell into the first-floor pool instead and got stuck there because the edge of the pool is slightly higher than the water, which is solid, and I can't hop out. Hi Investigators!

Forgot to announce it here but DARK SCIENCE had a booth at PAX West 2023 earlier this month!

We were testing a new build:
- Graphic enhancements: new lighting system & post processing
- New foliage 3D models
- Controller Support
- Steam Deck Port

It'll be released to the public here soon!

Content development for the next chapters have been going really well so far but not much on the development side, but I'm still working on this slow & steady so stay tuned! :)

v0.35 - BUG FIXES & BACK IN DEVELOPMENT!

After a year of not being in development, we're back! Also we just released a new Demo update v0.35 for bug fixes and QoL improvements just now!

!!! If you already played the demo and want to try the latest changes, please start a new game or delete the save data !!!

Bugs Fixed in v0.35:

We heard all of your feedback and here are the things that we fixed:

Missing Player Settings. Now added BGM Volume, SFX Volume, & Mouse Sensitivity
Controls are slidey/slippery (change how the player transform is modified)
Cases that require you to tame anomalies didn’t load properly when opening a save file
Interacting with an object a few seconds before the shift ends will softlock the player
Interacting with an object too quick can softlock the player as well
Game doesn’t scale with monitors that are not 1600:900 & performance are highly reduced
Hide PDA button & icon during a dialogue
Loading a save file after quitting can’t load the unlocked filter anymore
Filter can be reenabled during the camera on/off transitions

5 new levels which include new cases, characters, & anomalies
5 new camera filters

Currently the game is just being developed in a part-time manner by just one person (me). If we got a lot of support or funding, the game will be developed faster with more consistent progress. I enjoyed the demo, I think I got all the encounters except two. I have no idea what art project/picture to show Soren and Arthea though... and I took a lot of pictures of things around the town. I enjoyed that there was was no real timer besides the day shift so I could explore on my own time and slowly figure things out as I went along....

This might be my new favorite game

I was looking for Cryptid games on steam and I think this might be the best one. It has charm, the artstyle is great, it has TONS of different cryptids and tidbits about each (something I think many cryptid games are lacking, actual knowledge of cryptids), fun characters, and overall just an incredibly enjoyable time. The puzzles are simple but fun. I REALLY hope this game comes to fruition and is completed eventually as it could become my favorite game of all time. My only complaint is that I couldn't int...

Demo feedback

Hey so I wanna just preface with the fact I love this game. I love the humour, I love the references and memes, I love the general direction of it. However, I think I would honestly deem this demo unplayable. I hit a softlock (which I see is mentioned in the known bugs) so I ended the shift, but then after that I've just hit bug after bug after bug which I believe has perma screwed up my save now, none of which I think is mentioned in the known bugs. I went to the medic, went into the "analyse this photo"...

Awesome game! But a couple of bugs.

I played the demo for this game and I gotta say I am loving it! I'm a huge fan of mythical creatures so this was really fun to play! But there have been a couple of problems I've found. The first one was when I exited the game and after coming back to continue playing it, my night vision filter won't come up no matter how much I pressed X. It's like quitting the game just erases it. Another bug I found was that three cases that I have already solved are still being listed as unsolved. Other than thos...
