[All Spoilers] Story questions

I just finished the game but have a bunch of questions. Maybe I'm just dumb since I cannot find anybody else asking these, but I don't understand a few things.

1. What the hell is the oil monster?
2. Why do I keep getting sucked into the pearl dream? So annoying.
3. Why do boxes appear and disappear in the life shuttle? (you look in the storage, sleep, look again and the whole layout is different)
4. What is it with Tim's 1960 life module? What does this add to the story?

Am I just dead? Is that the answer?

As I understand it's basically two stories:
First: a oil drilling company that has no regard for the environment, hired a team to delete the data of them harming, but they got attacked by the oil monster, and now I'm here shutting the operation down.
And second: My daughter died three years ago, and I can't let go of Pearl. I am gone for a total of two weeks but Stan and Emma act like it's been a hundred years... ("i miss you so so much" bla bla).

Anyway, I think this game has much more potential, but in the end I give it a 7.

I wonder as well, the underwater fishies/oil monsters didn't get answered, neither did the question of what kind of black ops corpo experiments they were actually doing in Zone B

I suppose the life module adds some background on how TIm transitioned from activist to corperate stooge maybe?

The Pearle dream is just the way he interacts with the ghost of his daughter. It's him being pulled in the last memory he has of his daughter...but also ocean setting because that's where he is.
