Compared to PoE at first summons are like Skeletons then later like Spectres
You need gear.
I had my summons staying until they died basically.
Now summons will stay forever by using the summon buff skills.
The key is keeping overload active indefinitely, since the minions are invincible during overload.
I feel like if you had played more than 1 1/2 hours, watched maybe a single YouTube video, or actually spent more than a few seconds learning basic game mechanics, you wouldn't have embarrassed yourself here.
Strangely I don't remember needing to summon them much when I was leveling either. Maybe because I leveled using machine guards.
Here is how summoner gameplay looks at 95 lvl: enter new area, summon your minions, move to the boss, everything dies on its own. Repeat. You gonna get bored either way.
moto basically gives them duration whenever he uses minion skills so if op just summons and walks around doing nothing it might look like it, where you are meant to use minion skills to keep buffing it.
