Tbh things have been pretty easy to unlock. But I also like to smoke a bit and just farm xp.
Too lazy to put in time and effort? If so, you don't deserve to have stuff you werent meant to have. There is enough stuff from playing single player modes so you can definitely do stuff on your own without needing help from anyone.
I have everything except the KL skins as I dont play KL. Even if I want those skins so bad, I am not going to cheat my way through that. If they add the skins later in the store, I will buy it. Else its something I will never get. Simple as that.
More MK11, some smart cookies had a system whereby people sent their save files to them, with whatever unlocked content they had garnered so far; they then trawled those files for the unlocked stuff, compiled it all into one profile, which was then used as a dummy profile for people to unlock stuff for themselves with (using some tools which logged into the server and reconciled the unlocked profile with the players' own saves).
This didn't happen immediately because, obviously, people had to play a bit in order to unlock stuff, and the saves had to be compiled -- they released it before 100% of content was available, and as stuff was still being unlocked (which was enough for most). That, and there is time needed to nut-out such a workaround... Assuming MK1 can be hacked at all / people will bother.
So, if you're interested, you'll have to wait for, my guess, until the first DLC seasons is done; then you will likely need some tool or tools to accomplish it. In other words, it's another in a litany of reasons not to buy in early for these half-baked "games as a service" style products ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Too much time on your hands / nothing more constructive to do than to sit and farm for WB analytics?
That would work for the PS2 MK games, but you are expected to pay money for things here, not to unlock them by playing, otherwise there wouldn't be an option to pay real money for the skins and characters.
I respect your opinion. I don't consider it as hacking, especially not if it doesn't hurt the gameplay experience of others. These rewards are artificially locked behind walls in a way to make it paying for them the more tempting option, so you don't miss out on them, because they are often time gated as well. Using cheats for these kinds of things is like artificially unlocking what was artificially locked for the sole reason of getting more money out of people. If locking them had gameplay reasons then there wouldn't be an option to skip the gameplay by paying.
Also it's like getting back for all the things that should have been free but they make people pay for it, for example Shang Tsung who is a main story character and absolutely should have been part of the base game. They ripped him out of the base game just to sell him seperately, it's all about the money.
I have a full time job so I play during my spare time. I have mastered the entire roster btw so I have put in the hard yards. I have all achievements unlocked and have over 200 hrs put into the game.
You can always space out your grind based on how much you can do per day or in your spare time and take as long as you want. No one expects you to finish it in a matter of days / weeks. This argument applies to any game that has grinds to unlock achievements or in game content. Go look at games like Gears of War for example and see the grind involved there. Its far worse than this and there is no unlocker available for that.
I kinda agree on your argument to unlock the paid content cos the prices can be justified as ridiculous by the majority. But when it comes to the character mastery unlocks, invasion rewards and KL rewards, there is absolutely no argument to cheat your way to get them without putting in the time and effort. I made this argument above and some people somehow cant take kindly to that (with a jester reaction to boot) and want everything handed on a plate. How convenient.
I personally dont play KL and even if I badly want those skins, I am not going to cheat my way through those cos the players who actually sweat it out against tough opponents to reach Elder God takes skill and ofc time cos you have to keep winning to rank up. Seeing someone else make a mockery of that effort is just plain wrong and morally unethical.
Sure there is an arguement, there is always an arguement or a counter point, here it is:
If its only about skins in a game where the main appeal is the competitive player vs player fighting and costumes/outfits give no benefits to players, then I am okay with people cheating to get the skins faster. They get no advantage over other players in the game, so it makes no difference in the gameplay at all. It doesn't affect you or others in any way so why would it matter to you at all?
If someone can get a skin by paying real money and skipping the grind, then why would it be any different to skip the grind with a cheat? Is it because we are talking about a skin that is placed in a different window or the devs artificially made it seem more rare somehow? You'll skip the gameplay the same way as if you have paid money just for a different skin than it was intended.
It doesn't matter if the skin we are talking about is a KL skin or just a story mode or krystal shop skin or whatever else unlock. You pay real money to skip gameplay to get the skin versus you use a cheat to skip gameplay to get the skin. The only difference is that you are skipping online gameplay instead of offline gameplay in certain cases. Buying a skin with real money is cheating just as much as using an exploit or a tool for the same purpose, this is why it's called pay2win in some games where skins give you buffs, the only difference is that buying a skin with real money benefits the developers and cheating only benefits the player, but after paying so much for such a game I think it's time for the players to get some benefits as well.
Just seems your inciting your concerns based round developer greed and concocted a excuse to spite them, however, do you think by cheating the system will stop developer greed?
I mean, if anything, will only encourage them more.
And of course, the repercussion of cheating will inevitably have a backlashing effect as they will make examples of people that do by simply implementing some sort of Anti-cheat system to their code, then what?
What will you truly accomplish by executing cheats to unlock cosmetic items?
I mean really... They are only cosmetics ans don't affect the gameplay in any way shape or form apart from the DLC Characters as they have their own unique move sets and combos.
Other than that, this thread is pretty useless and those that cheat deserve their comeuppance.
If you can't play for the enjoyment of playing then simply uninstall the game and cheat elsewhere.
This thread should be locked by a moderator as it only encourages more people to shamelessly admit their fraudulent activities.
Either play the game and ignore the paywall items (which is easy) or simply play something else.
With this said, say what you must, at this point you've just made yourself look the fool regardless of making a few subpar points, other than that, very controversial in the other hand.
Cheating because you blame greed is not a valid excuse.
