Level up your profile, grind the character mastery for the entire roster and complete story for free dragon krystals. These are the only ways you can earn it without spending real money. You will get around 6000 from that.

Just wait for the unlocker like MK11 had. A quality title doesn't need to pad itself in this way to keep interest. MK9 didn't need it and neither did X.
