A Mysterious Box Quest
So I just finished that sidequest and...and I thought the Abandoned Village was creepy! As soon as I gave the lady the box, I just NOPE'D the ♥♥♥♥ out of there. Didn't even care I had to go through that entire route again due to not entering Timberain yet.

And it also sucks that I missed the chest containing the Forbidden Axe. My Protagonist was only level 45 and the danger level was 50. I love how this sequel adds creepy sub plots that have nothing to do with the main story. Another example of that is that boy with the "StuFfeD ToY" (yes that is how it is typed out in the game) that you can't actually get, isn't attached to a sidequest, and the doll's description when viewing it in the boy's inventory is simply: "Won't you play with me?"

I'll be honest, the mysterious box was kinda boring. I was expecting a boss fight or something to break up the encounters and area having no music or sounds other than the party brutally murking the very rare encounters you can sometimes get inside of there.

Yeah the sidequest itself could have been better. I found the area itself pretty creepy. Plus you can find lore about what happened there in the form of an NPC in Timberain who was once a maid to the manor as well as a "Worn Journal" belonging to the little girl that owned the box. That I found kinda neat but I agree, a boss fight would have been nice.

I do think this item is related to a divine weapon. You can chat with the Cleric Guild Master and she tells you a creppy story about that one, it seems you can get it and actually play with it since it becomes a staff from what she said. Didn't solve the puzzle yet tho

I found it quite odd that the mansion had very little monsters... but, I dig the gear that can be acquired from it. The axe looks amazing on a Cleric Castii :MHRISE_Felyne:

Indeed. I also find it creepy that no music plays in the manor, not even during random encounters.
