Stuck
Anyone else having a bug where you click to go on adventure and you pick one, and then nothing happens and the game stops working?

I was having the same problem. I uninstalled and then reinstalled the game. I then went to the backpackhero.exe and had to tell Norton that I trusted the file. I was then able to start a new dungeon.

Actually yeah, I'm having the same problem. Was looking for a solution. I tried to play a mission, then my firewall told me "Game tried to open a protected file" and stopped it from doing that. Figuring that it was a one time issue, I closed all that and restarted the game. but now I can't play any of the missions.

Jersh, try verifying your game files. Right click Backpack Hero in your library, click Properties, then Installed Files, then click the "Verify integrity of game files" button. Hopefully that fixes it.

It sounds like in your case, your antivirus/firewall thought that the game was doing something shady so it likely added that file to a block list or quarantined it. That might explain why the firewall message only appeared once, and why the game is refusing to cooperate after that happened. Verifying file integrity should hopefully re-download that missing file if this is the case

You might also need to whitelist that file in your firewall/AV to stop it from doing it again. Good luck!

Not sure about Button mash's issue, maybe it's the same thing but there's not really enough info for me to take a guess

I had tried that, even reinstalled the game. I'm having the same issue as OP, where i can start the game and everything works fine till I try to start an adventure and the player character freezes while all the NPCs keep moving around, and cant use ESC or anything like that. its super werid
